You are forgetting Tyler Blackett, easily by far the worst player to kick a ball for us I think.

 

He actually ended the season a lot better, scored and assisted 5 goals in the last 13 League games he played for them.

 

I just despise Phillips and Duffy.

See the thing is, it wouldn't be a bad signing on paper, as I think Beck has a very high ceiling and Rodgers will improve him massively. He wouldn't be backup to Taylor for long.

If it does go through, it's not exactly a shining example of our scouting, as it's a deal we could have got done earlier on, and that's what annoys me, I understand the lack of Movement at CB and Winger, as we have 6 of each, but if Beck was our main target we should have got him in July.

Either way, not against this, but it shows how poor our scouting is, and it has to be a LTB or straight buy, not a loan.

 

He's a donkey no doubt but I don't hate him as much as those @Hammy89 named. Something about the gormless * Hendry, Phillips and Duffy,

 

If we get him on a perm I'm fine with it.

 

I think there are better left backs out there, to be honest. Can't see him being cheap either. Seems crazy to me that we had a clear interest in Harrison Burrows in January and failed to return to the table for him when he was available for £5m/£6m.

 

To be fair, Leighton Clarkson had an excellent season at Aberdeen and they let him go for less than a Million. I don't see Beck costing any more than £4 million.

 

I still think beck is quite good tbh. I just think with him at 21 and Anderson at 20 there is not much in them so Anderson should take priority. Maybe beck is a bit stronger defensively. Definitely wouldn’t be against this signing as he would still upgrade the position with his style of play it’s just a matter of how much he’d upgrade it though right now.
I think some people are maybe too hung up on the 7-1 game. Hard to judge one player on that, our full 11 dominating their full 11 not much one player can do tbh. He was very good in any other game I seen tbf and still so young.

 

Yeah but because of injuries those 13 games stretch back to November. He did get 3 assists just after he re-signed at the end of January and February.

 

£4m, lol, ffs. He's not even worth 400k , he's absolute * and defo for that fee.

Tell me why you think he's bad? He had one bad game against Yang yet he was largely regarded as the best LB in the league last year.

 

It kinda annoys me the narrative around that game. Yang is very good one on one , he has other deficiencies but it's a bit of an insult toward his ability one vs one to use it as a stick to beat a Beck with.

 

It's why I've not given up on Yang, he has a lot we can work with, but definitely needs game time.

One bad game doesn't make you a bad player, even if it was Yang that ripped you.. the lad obviously had a bad day. I don't remember it so just going on what folk here have said. I'm more surprised Yang had a good game..

if the scouse are selling him it won't be cheap
