I dont want us to sell him simply because he is a good player and also because I have stopped caring about us getting huge bucks that wont get reinvested anyway, leaving us season after season with a Weaker team

We would earn enough, and more if we kept a strong side together collecting victories in the CL.

If a player are willing to play out the contract or at least to the last year, we would become a MUCH stronger side. If a player push for a move then sell.

Players like MOR, Jota and tierney did not push for it.

Us as fans earn nothing from the big sales, remember that or at least take it into consideration.

Last season was a massive downgrade losing a player of Jotas calibre. Him along with O’Riley are the only players who have seriously proved themselves at CL level.

To lose both and not have not replaced either with real genuine quality, considering our financial situation is absolutely * criminal.

Who cares what we’re getting offered, we see none of the money in return we need to keep our best performers for as long as possible

Aye might as well keep him. We will do nothing with the money anyway.

Some performances against good sides, 2 goals in 4 games.

You don’t believe Jota is a player of champions league quality?

His performances weren't great if I recall and he missed quite a few of the matches due to injury.

Never said he was pish but he wasn't any better than what Kyogo has shown at CL level

He was bang average in the CL.

Literally only thing of note done was score in the Bernebau.

Should maybe watch those games back, as it sounds like a bit of a Mandela effect going on here...

And vs Leverkusen the year before. He could score and contribute vs top teams, fairly consistently as well.

Think you should watch his goals back. Then maybe rewatch the matches. He created some very good chances that were missed by other players, including Kyogo.

We got £25 mil for him because he proved himself at that level.

Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley may be the subject to near-constant transfer speculation at the moment, but his countryman Kasper Schmeichel would love for him to stay put.

After a stellar season last term, the 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks from the likes of Liverpool to Atalanta and Juventus. Schmeichel, however, is very clear on his message to the fellow Dane.

"I’m trying everything, trust me!" said Schmeichel. "I’m trying everything to make him stay. But he’s not given anything away yet.

"He’s a top quality player. It’s always difficult with national teams as you meet, have matchday -1, game day, recovery and then you go again.

"Having seen him every day here… what a player!"

O'Riley's top performances last season earned him an impressive trophy haul at Celtic's own awards ceremony last year, with the midfielder picking up Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Players' Player of the Year.

In January, it was reported that the likes of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid were interested in acquiring the Dane's services on loan, but, after conversations with Brendan Rodgers, decided to remain at Celtic and help them clinch last campaign's traditional league and Scottish Cup double.

Schmeichel added: "From what I know of Matt, he’s a very level-headed guy with great parents behind him helping him with whatever decisions. What I do know is that he does love playing here and he has loved his time here.

"And whether it’s now – or hopefully later – then no matter what, Celtic means a great deal to him. For me, I hope he stays. And I’m doing everything I can to convince him

Brendan has played a blinder with his comments. Sets our stall out so if he does go, we get market value. Thing for me is I don’t think he would be saying it if MOR wasn’t on board with that too, so either we keep a classy operator or we get a suitable fee for him. Not convinced we go out and spend a chunk of that fee if we sell on a bit of class but a guy can dream. Or sell for 30 mill after he drags us through the groups :fear:

Atalanta, the #ORiley operation does not depend on the sale of #Koopmeiners

The Nerazzurri are ready to offer a figure around 27 million euros for the Dane from #Celtic

I watch a lot of Premier league & very little European football so I was hoping MOR would end up in the Premier league but I don't think that is going to happen now.

I don't see them suddenly jumping from €17 million Euros to €27 million, hopefully it's bs.

CHELSEA have joined Celtic star Matt O’Riley’s growing list of admirers.

But Southampton boss Russell Martin hopes his strong relationship with the Hoops ace — after their time together at MK Dons — can help him win the race for his signature.

O’Riley scored against the Blues in Celtic’s 4-1 friendly win in the USA last week.

Now Chelsea have him on their wanted list as a potential replacement for Conor Gallagher, with the England midfielder set to leave.

Saints have already had a £14million bid rejected, but are likely to come back for the 23-year-old Denmark cap.

Brighton have been long-term admirers, and Crystal Palace are also watching the auction and may join.

O’Riley has also been chased by Italian side Atalanta all summer, but Premier League football may appeal more.

Saints will have to go well over £20m and include extras to persuade Celtic to sell after Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers vowed the club’s valuation must be met before he moves
