You would've thought especially after the last window that this time there would be an extra effort made, but it just looks more of the same slow drawn out slog as always.

Fans are tired of hearing the same excuses, just want a recruitment team that has a clue what they're doing, forward planning with strategy and ambition, instead of making it up as they go along, because that's what it looks like.

Given their "patience" was never built on tangible logic, don't expect them to stop making excuses.

Already blaming Norwich for us not meeting the asking price or for spending a entire summer trying to lower a agreed fee for Bernardo.

I'm surprised Benfica didn't tell us to * off.

Apology and chuck mark lawwell and Joe dudgeon under the bus.
    Move on.

Same as when Peter stepped down.

    It's all just a show.
They knew he was taking over as chairman in 18 months anyway. So a symbolic stepping down to keep the fans off their back for a little while.
Same with recruitment after January, they knew the fans was turning again, so some easy news and move on again.

After this window, if it pans out as poorly as we expect, they'll pray the results go their way and will pretend they don't hear us. If we get too loud, they'll blame it on not having a recruitment team organised and announce they are looking to hire someone, that it will be better next summer - buy them time again.

Depending how badly we've handled this one with benfica, I'd not be surprised if we've burnt that bridge now.

If I didn't think we were so inadequate behind the scenes, I'd think they doubled down on our recruitment strategy of recent times.

Is Brendan cool as he knows its coming before the end of the window?? But he's not daft, as are the fan base. This is a script we've seen repeatedly. And it's getting worse. And the excuses don't wash any more. Brendan, the players and fans are again being short changed by accountants and the tashed ones entourage.

The board are a cancer to the football side, feeding their own pocket, ego's without an absolute care for the fans. They ignore at every turn possible. Except when there's a buck to be made or for renewal time.

All over birthdays, commercial contracts, condemning fans, sly digs at the huns on twitter. But progressing the football side, they're busy hiding behind a strategy that's 20 years old, that sees us left behind clubs like Copenhagen on the European stage.

Still time though...haven't gotten in right in the past 18months. Sorting it in 30 days is a fantasy!

I can't think of any "big side" who willingly go into a league campaign with one LB and ST.

Doesn't matter really, you look after yourself first. We have the resources to conduct a good solid window. Getting 60/75% of all business done (including outgoings). We had since June 10th. This after a diabolical Jamuary window that was apologised for.

We've learned nothing since then. We should have been all over it.

We claim to be a top club...act like it. Set the standard. Let the others look on in envy and aspire to be like us.

Not to be just ahead of the huns.

(Apologies, not a rant at you. But in general.)

    GK
    Schmeichel/Sinisalo
    Stronger than last season

    RB
    Johnston/Ralston
Same as last season. Ralston needs upgraded

    LB
    Taylor/Bernabei
Same as last season. Taylor needs upgraded AND we need a better back up. Think we will get a LB. Wether or not it is an upgrade on Taylor or a Bernabei replacement time will tell.

    CB
    CCV/Scales/Nawrocki/Lagerbielke/Yuki/
Same as last season. Four out of those five not good enough/not fancied by Rodgers/need upgraded or sold. Don’t see us signing another CB unless any others get shipped.

    CM
    O’Riley/Calmac/Hatate/Bernardo/Iwata
    Same as last season
Being greedy a physical ball winner would be nice. Don’t see it happening.

    RW/LW
    Palma/Maeda/Johnstone
    Kuhn/Forrest/Yang
    Same as last season.
Think Rodgers is undecided on Palma and Kuhn. Johnstone and Yang are just not up to it. Forrest simply cannot be one of our starting wide men. For me Maeda is the only one out of those six who is a guaranteed starter and that is grim.
Need a proper versatile winger who can play both sides imo but stronger on the right.

    CF
    KYOGO!!!!!!!
    Weaker than last season.
Need two new strikers. If it is Idah get it done.

All in all a shambles imo.
Largely tried to avoid getting involved with all the crap being thrown at the club/board but honestly, how do you defend going into the opening game of the season with one * striker and one LB, who clearly is not good enough.

We will forever be the punchbags of Europe until we actually have some serious and talented operators running our football operation.

We a run by a bunch of out of touch, risk averse businessmen, who are no doubt incredibly shrewd from an accountancy and financial perspective, other than having us pay copious amounts of corporation tax on the multimillions we have idly sitting there.

They are terrified to delegate any power over our transfers, and will not break our structure that has been there for two decades.

If we don’t sign some serious quality in the last few weeks, it’s just another nail in the coffin in us being a complete irrelevance outside of Scotland. Rosenborg won 13 titles in a row in Norway in the 90s-00, does anyone really give a *?

We might beat the Huns to titles more often than not, but the likelihood will be zero progress will be made in Europe, regardless of the ambitions of our managerial team at any given time.

Seriously lost interest in transfer windows involving us. Watching paint dry is more interesting.

Passed caring. Managed to pass on my season ticket so it doesn't feel so much like Peter Lawell has literally hacked into my bank account and transferred money over to himself.

Will join the others watching the game on a dodgy firestick. The board have * us over for years.

The board are no better than Indian call centre scammers. * should be on Rogue Traders.

You can't just terminate a contract or 'rip it up'. The only way to do that is if the player has done something that qualifies as just cause to terminate the contract - Being * or injured all the time doesn't cut it.

Generally they have to be paid off to leave. You might be able to negotiate a deal where the club doesn't have to pay up the full value of the contract, but it's got to be a deal that's acceptable to the player. And if you're going to have to pay money to get rid of them, surely it's better to try to loan them out and maybe even get a transfer fee at then end of the loan.

They have lost plenty of important players though. We haven't lost anybody of significance apart maybe from Oh who was a 3rd stringer.

Not sure but we should at least have another striker and LB in.

    No real excuse for that.
