Are we allowed to be concerned yet? :56:

Could see this window panning out this way from before the window even opened.
It's typical Celtic, why anyone thought differently is baffling.

I'm sure we will get Bernardo to find Celtic park at some stage in the next 4 weeks and I'm sure we will at least make another 4.5m offer for Idah come the final week of the window.

But honestly, the only other thing looking remotely likely is a loan deal of some sort for a LB.

This window is actually worse than last summer and is giving January a good run for it's money.

At least in January we improved slightly, this window we are arguably worse currently and standing still if we managed to locate Bernardo and get Idah (or anyone) in for ST.

After that, we are back to square one as we was in May.

I say square one, it's actually about 5 squares behind where we was 2 years ago.

No need to panic guys, once we've got Bernardo over the line we can move our attentions to negotiating a fee for Adam Idah. Still 4 weeks to get those deals over the line. KTF.hh

I’d rather we didn’t - he hasn’t seemed to have done much to make us think it would be a worthwhile signing especially taking into account the inflated fees English clubs expect. His loan at Sevilla was uninspiring.

They very likely wouldn't be risked as the chances of picking up an injury are much higher if they aren't fully up to the speed of a competitive game.

Kyogo would start. No big deal bringing Idah off the bench for ~30 mins. Different style of play as well which requires less running. Idah is a target man, not a pressing forward like Kyogo. I'd also argue SPFL games have a fairly slow tempo.

Scary thing is I watched the highlights from the Samaras Sunday game at ibrox a few years ago, a game we went into severely depleted and we all thought we were going to get pumped, and honestly I thought that 11 would give our current 11 a run for their money.

Brendan Rodgers has warned the Celtic board they "cannot snooze" on transfers but insists there will be no Scottish Premiership discounts applied at the till for Matt O'Riley.

Southampton are keen to land the Hoops star with former boss Russell Martin unable to hide his admiration for the man he once managed at MK Dons. They've had one offer booted out while Atalanta have already tried and failed three times to prise Matt O'Riley away from Parkhead. Further attempts are expected but Rodgers will continue to demand top dollar, making it clear the Scottish game isn't a bargain basement.

The Irishman said: "It's actually been straightforward with Matt because he's such a great professional. I think the challenge when teams come to a club like Celtic, they sometimes can place a value on the league and not the player. We all understand the model here; players will come in and develop. It's not a club that you have to move on from, but obviously there's riches in other leagues much greater than ours that allows players to go and improve their conditions for their life. We all understand that.

It's really important from my perspective that if a player does leave here, that they pay the value for the player. That's something that sometimes doesn't happen. Sometimes a value will come in a lot less. I've worked in the Premier League, I understand the levels there, I understand the players and what the values are. So no players will leave here unless it's for the right valuation and at this moment in time, there's been no team that's been anywhere near it.

Last season's double winners are yet to add an outfield player to their squad this summer, with the only new faces so far coming in the shape of goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo. However, Paulo Bernardo is expected to complete a £3.4million permanent switch from Benfica imminently following a successful loan spell last season.

Rodgers wasn't counting his chickens as he stressed anything can still happen until a player signs on the dotted line. But that doesn't mean he's content for the club to drag their heels on recruitment, warning that others will be stealing march if you are caught napping

"Hopefully it's a matter of hours. He's due in for a medical so hopefully all will be well," Rodgers told Sky Sports when asked about Bernardo. "We still have work to do. In transfers, there's always moving parts, it's never as easy as just seeing a player and bringing him in. But I would hope by the end of August we would have the team set up how we would've wanted it, because it's so important

"You cannot snooze in this game of football. You always have to be developing and improving. We want to ensure that we have an improved squad this season in order to take on all the challenges that we have."

Whether Adam Idah returns permanently or not looks set to roll on all summer. The Norwich City striker was disciplined by the Canaries this week for missing a flight to their pre-season flight to Austria. The Cork man missed a friendly with Hoffenheim and Carrow Road boss Johannes Hoff Thorup admitted that links to Parkhead were probably a factor for the striker who played a pivotal role in last season's twin success.

And while Rodgers didn't give much away, he by no means ruled out a bid for Idah. He added: "Adam's a Norwich player. I've said that he did fantastic with us last season and we'll just see what happens over the coming weeks."

Wants to come out much stronger by end of August than how we finished last season. Those words mean there's alot of business to be done. I hope that's true I really do.

I'd say even though we'd want a separate deal for Charles Southampton could say listen well give you x amount and Charles for O Riley which would make sense for all involved imo. Though the money, as Breandan said, has to be right.

Like what Brendan said about Matt there. “Nobody has been anywhere near it” regarding bids for O’Riley. 25m would be the absolute minimum we would possibly sell for but I’d be surprised if we let him go for that especially with the sell on due to MKD. Imagine a world where he stays another season :35:

won’t get my hopes up mind.

Regarding the growing unrest about our transfer activity.. I think everyone needs to chill out. It would’ve been nice to have everything done early but I really get the feeling that Brendan knows what he’s doing. Kasper and Sinisalo were great bits of business on the face of it. Finally looking like Bernardo and Idah deals could be getting closer. He’s not a mug. He knows what we need and he knows the money is there. I’d be very surprised if we don’t add at least 4 or 5 intended first-team players on top of Bernardo and Idah.

That's my whole point across this last 4 or 5 weeks. We are in a position to do so.

Still think it's taken faaaaar too long but I'm more hopeful now (after hearing this).

Warning shot #2 for our board, will it be heard?

Wonder who Brendan thinks is snoozing :39:

    "cannot snooze"
    They are.
    "Need to improve"

    We have regressed, again.
Bernardo and idah is standing still.
Rodgers isn't daft here, he surely can see (I believe he is and is wording this a certain way), the task of quality and improving on last season (if not the last three), is massively behind schedule and extremely unlikely to be the case.

He's applying pressure with a full month remaining, plenty of time
But we've wasted near two months so far and some nothing.

They have not had pre season with our club and under our manager. They may be familiar with our style of play but the importance of getting a full pre season under a new club can't be overstated. The time taken for our board to get these over the line is ridiculous and an embarrassment.
