In this case, I think the club are right to hold their position.

Has that always been right in the past? Absolutely not. However, I take every deal in isolation instead of conspiracy theories about Lawwell or Desmond or any other * in the boardroom.

'Fault' maybe isn't the right word but ultimately no team has an obligation to accept any offer for a player unless contractual. So either celtic stump up the cash or they move on to someone else. Where it will absolute be celtics fault is if they continue to * about with offers that won't be accepted and leave it too late to find someone else. As long as we have a plan b and a plan c lined up we can haggle all we like.

For what it's worth, I think we will get Idah. It's pretty rare for a club and player to be so public around wanting a move to happen and it not to happen, especially when the selling club has sent the player out on loan season before. But if it doesn't happen it is an active choice celtic has made, so I don't want to hear a peep from the board about 'transfers are hard' or the usual narrative.

Another day of no signings to look forward to no doubt.

47 days ago the window opened.

30 days until the window shuts.

    0 outfield players signed.

As I said above, I believe Celtic are right to hold their position right now. We clearly want him and he clearly wants to move here. Every party involved in the transfer: Celtic, Norwich and Idah know that the best thing is he moves here.

Norwich want top dollar for that and again, they're right to demand whatever fee they want because he is their player but let's not pretend that Norwich are doing everything and anything they can to fleece many more millions out of us for a player they were willing to see leave for £4.5m in January. I think we should be willing to pay more, I believe we should go up to £6m but until Norwich decide to negotiate on that transfer and remain intent on their asking price, be it £8m, £9m or £10m, we will wait.

One of us will have to blink first and we are already starting to see Idah lay the groundwork for the new negotiations to begin. A deal is best for all parties but both clubs need to be willing to negotiate and come to agreements.

Except Bernardo and Idah who already know our system from last season. I would assume they wouldn't need time to adjust. They are both fit cause they are training with their current clubs.

The happiest of clappers must be getting * off now. Even if they won’t admit.

There’s simply no excuse for going into the new season without a single outfielder signed. I think if Idah and Bernardo had already signed, it still wouldn’t be good enough starting the campaign with essentially the same squad that finished the previous one.

My worry is Rodgers is dead set on a few specific players to the point we’re waiting and waiting. It’s not a smart strategy. We’ll end up getting caught out later in the window and have to scramble as always.

Yes getting fit while adapting to and playing a different style of football all summer.

People have commented already how we look far more polished in pre season and that's down to having plenty of times to work on things without distraction. Idah and Bernardo if they ever do sign have lost this time and although were here last season will be behind from the start.

If Bernardo signs today, I'd expect him to get game time on Sunday. Same for Idah, although it's unlikely his transfer is imminent.

I'm not sure about Benfica but Norwich's season starts a week after ours so even if Idah has been training full out with them, and it doesn't sound like he has, he'd still be at least a week behind our players. And that's assuming their training is at the same level as ours.

Said this in the hun part of the forum but I am genuinely worried about them this year, not for anything they are doing really but more so due to our board’s incompetence. To not sign one outfield is diafuckingbolical. They are up * creek financially but spend money. To not replace our scouting network in 6 months is absolutely shameful too.

Idah a week behind in terms of fitness >>> Mikey who was our backup striker in pre-season

Especially against teams parking the bus like Killie. Mikey did great in pre-season, but he was given space to run against high defensive lines.

Starting feel like groundhog day, even if we get idah & barnardo tied up it will feel like we've done almost nothing to improve the starting 11.

Maybe we will finally get a slew of signings in a short space of time but right now it feels like the club are doing sweet fa.

Cmon to fk give us something to be optimistic about.

Another Summer, nothing new it seems. Got to give it to the end of the window I suppose but it's not looking great at all.

We seriously need a proper left back, centre half, 2 strikers and if we ain't keeping OReilly or Hatate or both then we need 2 players who are of similar quality to replace them.

Can't believe we start the league this weekend and we've signed no one other than a goalie. Kilmarnock won't be an easy game and the champions league is scaring me shitless now. The Huns have been making transfers since early June.

First post this window that I’m taking a swipe at the board.

Patience is wearing thin. I’m annoyed at myself for thinking this window would be different to how we usually operate.

We’ve not even covered the basics and the season starts in 3 days.

For a club that is extremely cash rich, there is no excuses to not kick on and improve the squad.

The sound bites from Rodgers shouldn’t give anyone any reassurance because we’ve heard it all before.

Death, taxes and the Celtic board making a * of transfers!!

Don’t know if there is much in it but there seems to be talk that we are going to bid for Hannibal from Man Utd.

As expected, this is absolutely tragic.

No chance with the way we work we’re getting what is required to improve this team.

Rodgers going in to the Champions League with SPL level players in the starting line up yet again.
