Any player coming in now is unlikely to be ready for our first league game. They will have missed a full preseason with us, will not have had a chance to integrate into the team or even get up to speed with the managers style of play.

Our transfer policy is a shambles. A player trading policy is fine, however with £ms in the banks our focus should be on team building rather than dismantling. Putting all our eggs in 2 loan players who weren't starters last season is a dereliction or duty. If we wanted them it should have taken a week at most to sort out.

It's almost as if the board doesn't want success on the field and are content to just squeeze as much cash out of us as possible.

If they put half as much effort into building the football team as they do marketing merchandise we might actually win some meaningful games in Europe.

Rumors abound of Shankland being approached...not quite sure what to make of that...

probably a response to the Fiorentina/Verona in for Idah stories to try force Norwich's hand, as they did ours.

    * shankland, doubt there’s anything in it. Just seen there that Aberdeen rejected a £3m bid from Espanyol for miovski surely we’d throw in a cheeky 4m bid for him and test the waters

Miovski at £4m would be great business.

I’m not saying it would be accepted but if the current bid for him is £3m then surely we could get him for less than £6m and most likely at this stage in the window £4-4.5m they’d accept which I think would still be a great price for him,

    surely we’d atleast enquire

For all we know he's our backup. However I'd still rather idah than him as I know he can do it. Many collapse under the pressure of celtic and he grew.

If we can't get him then I say go for him instead. However I suspect rodgers is willing to wait for his top priority. He's not like ange in that way.

For us to eventually get to a cheeky 4 mil bid we would have had to start off ages ago with a Lawell special of £500k while upping it £50k a week until we hit £4mil.

Then give it the big un of how we tried and failed.

I’d rather idah meself mate for the exact same reasons. I do like miovski though and I’m slightly concerned at how long were letting it drag on with idah though especially after hearing we apparently never went back with a second bid, so if not why haven’t we bid for miovski?
At the end of the day we don’t know what’s been going on behind the scenes but I’d like to see more movement on idah and if not I’d like to here that were in talks for miovski

Rangers seem to be very active in transfer market, going for multiple, fairly decent looking targets - with varying success.
Are they just crap at keeping their business secret and we are totally amazing at keeping ours quiet?

Or are we just doing next to * all?:39:

Bit of both.. they are essentially doing what we done last year in signing very unproven young players but they have no squad already there to fall back on and have dumped the core squad of their team. For us the biggest contributor of our permanent signings last summer was probably Palma. lagerbielke/nawrocki/Holm/Palma/ yang/tilio/ Holm/Kwon as a whole contributed very little in the scheme of things. If they have a similar hit rate considering the squad already there I think they are doing well to finish second..

We bid the same amount of money Norwich had agreed to a sell on with Hellas, before he joined us. It was a fair deal in January. Norwich clearly trying to rinse us for more money after he was here and performed well.

That's their right, of course. He's a Norwich player but let's not pretend this is just Celtics fault. Norwich are clearly trying to spin a narrative to drive his price up and Celtic are absolutely right not be getting drawn into that nonsense. We made an offer, it was rejected. We will make another offer when we are ready and when we know Norwich are coming back to the table with a fair mind/price.
