    I don't see any reason why Southampton would be interested in doing a deal unless it avtually is a make-weight for MOR.

    £12m they paid for him last season, 3 years on his deal. Would be astonished if they allow him to leave.

    Particularly if we won't deal on MOR.

    £20m + Charles and then go out and spend on a MOR replacement, the best outcome if at all possible. For me anyway.

    Would accept less than £20m if they were to throw in Charles but I just don't see any reason why they would want to. He seems like he's well thought of down there and he seems to have it all. 20 years old, built like an absolute unit, seems extremely comfortable on the ball, dominating in the air and the tackle. Surely, they're going to need someone like him in the Premier League. He plays 30 games in the Premier League at 20 years old and performs well, you're looking at selling him for £50m. That's literally what happened with Lavia.

    I know they signed that Downes from West Ham but seems mental they would throw away a really promising talent for O'Riley.

    CL! They can never offer him that in his development, until he leaves them. Sell to us as part of the MOR deal, with a first buy back option at a fixed price.

    It's possible, but unlikely...

    We can also confirm that the two clubs have also spoken about Shea Charles going in the opposite direction.

    Charles would not be a like for like replacement for O’Riley and HITC is told that Celtic are long-term admirers of the former Manchester City man.

    The Northern Ireland international came up in the City ranks before leaving for Southampton last summer

    The Saints showed faith in Charles, paying £10.5million rising to £15million according to Sky Sports.

    Charles was in and out of the Southampton side, starting 15 Championship games and coming off the bench in 18 more.

    The 20-year-old is now being discussed for a move to Celtic, where he would play under fellow Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers.

    Honestly I'd take the same, can't see it though. I'd say Southampton would be looking at a loan. So hopefully if he is part of the deal it would be a LTB option.
