Simply can't lose our 2 most creative midfielders.
I can see hatate being more raging if he didn't get the move south. MOR would be just mote determined to play better and get the best move he can

I agree a winger is essential, and the reality is if you buy a bunch of £2-3m wingers, you're likely not to get much success. I truly believe last season should have been £6-9m on a winger plus one of Palma and Kuhn. We could have then had new winger, Palma/Kuhn, Maeda, Forrest, MJ and Vata. Goalscorers cost you money and we need them, we were really missing an out and out goalscorer last season. Didn't feel we had anybody who you thought they can lift us out of trouble, whereas the previous 2 seasons you had that with Jota, Abada and Kyogo.

I do not believe we will sign one though unless we can shift another 2 wingers.

Wonder who the loanee could be from Man City. Would have to be an attacking mid or winger surely, or someone that can play both roles.

    McAtee.

Based on that tweet we will spend ZERO on new recruits and about 10m total on bringing Bernardo and Idah back . Net spend of a couple mill. Jesus wept .

So if we spend....say...£10m on Bernardo and Idah, you're saying that doesn't count?

Can someone find out who else hasn't signed an outfield player yet? Is this the longest we've ever taken to sign someone?

No I’m saying we will spend zero on players we didn’t have last season (new recruits ) . With the money from Oh it’s a net spend of probably 5 mill . Nowhere near enough investment .

Really couldn't give a rat's * what we spend, as long as we get the right players in.

The lack of players moving on has become as worrying as the lack of players in. We've managed to amass a load of average players all roughly of equal merit and none really capable of stepping up and until we lose most of them I can't see us bringing many more in.

Definitely a possible reason, even getting shot of half a dozen of them would be ideal, McCarthy, Bernabei, Tillio, Kobayashi, Laberbielke, Kwon ..that's a fair chunk of wages there that we should ideally be splitting across 3 good players, not 6 average ones.

    Agreed.

We have managed to get 3 out the door permanently, 4 if you include Hart retiring. However, I really thought we would have seen significant movement out the door over the last 2/3 weeks. Was hoping to see at least 6/7 out the door by now.

Kwon and Johnston especially, given they performed quite well in their respective loans. I would have thought they would have been sold already. We also have 4 spaces available to loan players out, we really need to get these filled.
