But in topic I genuinely think we still need CB, LB, 2 CMs, winger and striker maybe 2 if none coming through youth

I think you have a fair point there. I don't think our structure has the bandwidth to fix all our problems in one window and 4 more sounds like a reasonable goal. It took 3 windows to make this mess and it might easily take 3 windows to fix it. We can try to expedite that by signing 6 or 7; but I honestly think that would massively increase the risk of making the wrong decisions.

What I want to see (as soon as the windows change) is a quality DoF who then overhauls our scouting and recruitment ready for next summer.

Does anyone else ever get the feeling that if the transfer window was scrapped the mental health of much of the nation would improve dramatically over the summer...?

Had a positivity attack and my latest hope is we are waiting until we are back in Scotland to unveil two or three signings :60:

A left back, centre back, winger and striker is the bare minimum we need.

If that’s all we bring in it’s not enough.

For a competitive squad with decent depth.

Signing one striker would leave us with two, which Rodgers has already said isn’t enough.

Not signing another midfielder (Bernardo aside) would leave us lacking proper quality depth there. Still not addressed our lack of power and pace in that area.

Signing only one centre back means Scales is next in line if CCV or the new CB get injured, which would be a worry.

We need more than 4 outfield players.

This is why we're giving players already in the squad a chance.

There's no danger we are signing 5 players or more this transfer window...

As things stand right now, we have 6 centre halves and 6 wingers. Numbers-wise, the bare mininum is a left back, a central midfielder (Bernardo) and a striker. Problem is, Lawwell might be happy with the bare minimum, especially after our promising results in pre-season.
