Just watched the highlights, imagine diving for a penalty in a friendly when 4 down.

Right, I know you’re not supposed to read too much into friendlies…but my stauner is set to on. Just give us Man City’s trophies, Chelsea’s money and DC Uniteds Rooney tops now.

Was it not the Tony Mowbray season, we had a very good preseason as well - won the wembley cup?

    Enough said.... :56:

Yes, there are promising signs, but it's hard to get too carried away when it's put into context, this was City and Chelsea's first and 2nd pre season match. Our first 2 pre season matches were hardly awe inspiring and that was against weak opposition. It was still fun to beat the EPL money 11s anyway.

Same as I said in another thread, completely different scenario.

We sold off basically all of our experienced players (McManus, Robson, McDonald etc) and replaced them with Nguemo, Rasmussen and Josh Thompson, to name a few.

    Mad Hooiveld did alright.
He'd be better than at least 3 of the idiots at the club currently (lager, rocki and Tobi)

What's Tobi done to ye? :56::56::56:

Lagerbielke I'd happily have as 4th choice, Nawrocki 3rd behind Vickers and another.

Sorry mean Kobi for that one.

There's players in lagerbeilke and Nawrocki, much I believe there was one in Hooiveld as well.

But, as often the case, need to see so much more from them. Game time and showing what they've got.

    Easily done.

Genuinely was excited to see him, felt he read the game well and was better at covering and forcing players away from goal, rather than rash tackles.

But also turned out weak as * and has shown nothing to improve or step up to this level.
An example if ever there was one of the club signing players above the manager because they thought they tapped a market.

See Kiki Mizuno in the past.
    Kwon recently.
    Tilio as well.

Probably because he flys under the radar, like he's no done anything massively wrong, but shown nothing of note either.

Yeah, a ball playing defender as opposed to a defender.

I do jest to be fair.

It's been a good preseason as far as they go and sets us up nicely for the start of the new season.

Absolutely will be fine if we remain as we are for the domestic scene (as in Matt stays), but I imagine come UCL days, we will be schooled.

It is always good to beat Corrupt EPL sides on any day. Yes they are only friendlies but best to win them than lose them especially on a North American Tour.

And of course it can only boost our profile in North America and elsewhere. In fact it is the best I have felt about our friendlies for many a year. Also really gets even more team bonding.

Hopefully several good signings are just around the corner , then we can all feel a * of a lot better:ynwacelti
