Yeah I’m with ye mate I’d love brendan be a bit ruthless and say he wants to hang onto his best players for this season. I’m sure may would see the positives in another season with us. Huge club, huge chance of more silverware, huge bonus with the cl having more games and a real chance for him to showcase his talents even more this season then get his big move next year

Exactly mate the way he's playing now he could have a queue of clubs waiting for him if he turns it on in the CL.

Looked to me like he was mimicking that he hurt his back. Rodgers said Kuhn had felt his back sore in training. Noticed in the city game when Kuhn scored, him and O’Riley had their own wee celebration together. So maybe O’Riley was just ripping the pish out of his mate.

I think he's staying, no one looks prepared to pay big money and we don't need to sell.

Let's assume for a second he did go for £25M and we spend our usual £6M max. on replacement, hypothetically would we take MoR for that £6M if he was playing elsewhere? No brainer.
So as fans, let's stop worrying about profit and player value as it's utter meaningless to us on the park if we won't spend it anyway.

Would be a good signal of intent.

He's got 3 years left on his deal, we can hold him for another year and still demand too dollar.

But what would be really impressive, if we offered him a new contract, paid him on a par with McGregor and make it 4 year deal.

He's not about the money, but it will probably ease any small concerns or pressure from outwith. Would signal he stays this year etc.

You've got to think of the knock on effect. Players sign for us because we always promise the shop window and that we'll allow them to move on if a good offer comes in. If we renegade on that and don't allow the player to suddenly earn millions etc then it'll be even harder to sign talent in the future. Obviously we're talking great offers here not 5/6m etc. Once it's above 20 then he will be gone. It's what out player models based on, and without it we wouldn't have even got him to begin with.

Having said that, I think he likes it here so keep him :56:

I won't be raging at Matt if he goes, he's obviously got all the talent in the world, but if he is considering a move he isn't showing it at least, has been completely professional and obviously seems a likeable character in the squad among players. Would be fantastic if he stayed but will wait and see.

The guy has been in the form of his life for the last 9 months, it’s only a matter of time before he moves on, hopefully we get 30 million for him as the guy is that good.

I thought there was some kind of joke behind the scenes about oreilly, the celebration was walking like an old man witha stick also the commentator said and the old man gets it done, after he scored the 1st.

There will be improved bids coming in now. Still don't think anyone will get to the £25m mark and he'll stay another season though.

I was thinking we'd get around 20 mil, but tbh we should accept nothing less than 30 mil, and it would still be a bargain in todays market.

If other clubs really want him they should start some serious bidding.

If he's happy to stay then I wouldn't accept a penny under 30 million even if it means we get less for him next year or he goes for free down the line. He has never threw his toys out of the pram so if he plays like he has been & runs his contract down I'll be happy enough because we get another few years of the big handsome *.
