It won't just be the players, it'll be the club's too. Both clubs and players will be waiting for who else comes in for them.

Most of our big money transfers away have happened in August - Tierney, Forster, Van Dijk, Dembele, Edouard. We aren't the only team who wait to sell their best players.

I think we 100% are looking at higher quality, but that comes with more challenges. A smaller pool or players and richer teams competing against us. It's a hard market.

Not saying we couldn't be doing things a lot better and we might be disappointed come the end of it. But these are definitely the challenges of going for a quality player whilst playing in probably the worst league of any of the teams we're competing with for players.

To me, that's a bit like saying we "replaced" Paolo DiCanio with Regi Blinker.

I get the frustration, mate. I really do. But there's plenty of time. This could still turn out to be a really good window. Don't let it get you down.

    Take all of that.

But it's still frustrating to hear the usual soundbites again. If we end up getting in the level of player we all want, then fair. But I feel like we aren't as much of a * attraction as many people claim.

I'd imagine there's a good level LB out there and a CB that we could have been further along with by now. Maybe we are, who knows.

I just hope Rodgers isn't putting all his eggs in the EPL basket.

I can easily forgive CB and Winger not being brought in yet, as we currently have 6 CB's at the club and 6 wingers, clearly need to punt a few players first.

Even ST, it's clear we're going all out on Idah. I don't fully agree with it but I can see the delays.

LB there isn't really an excuse, and it's something we need to sort sooner rather than later. The recent LB links have been a pleasant surprise, but need to act quicker on this.

Hopefully something in the pipeline soon. I think it's clear no matter what happens, Taylor and Scales will start the first 2/3 games, but it'd be nice to have new players bedded in for the huns game.

Season starts for us next Sunday, the transfer window so far has been disappointing to say the least, time to pull the rabbits out of the hat Celtic.

Unless we sign 5 first team ready players by next weekend, we are starting off the season weaker than last season. That's the facts.

It's irrelevant that there's over a month left in the window we've regressed as it stands.

No amount of "plenty time left or the markets are slow" can cover that up.

Drop any points or get knocked out league cup before the first international break and it will be pure toxic!

Difference being, Palma isn't a complete dud.

Apart from that, I think folk are forgetting Daizen slotted in as the main man on the left and completely bossed it for large portions of last season.

Would it be any different if we signed £60m worth of players?

He's not a complete dud; but he isn't the same quality as Jota. I take the point about Maeda. I still think we haven't replaced what Jota gave us though. Maeda's a different kind of winger and Palma (though probably about the same level as Jota when it comes to his ability to beat a defence with a pass) lacks his pace and dribbling ability.

It's just not good enough bhoys, we deserve so much more.

Kasper is a great doubt signing, no doubt. The villa keeper looks like good business but is that our lot!?

Been busy tbf but Bernardo looks a done deal from what I gather but let's be honest, he looks decent from what we seen but is not his the level we should be aspiring too?

Know * all about this wolves lb but whilst it sounds exciting, I have no confidence we will seal the deal.

Got an to start acting with some urgency ffs

No, mate, that's not what I meant. I'm comparing apples with apples: he's not the same quality in general. When he joined, he wasn't the same quality as Jota was when he joined and when he leaves, he won't be the same quality as Jota was when he left. To put it another way: it's not that we didn't buy a £20 million player; it's that we bought a player who never will be a £20 million player or even close.

It would be madness for us to spend £20 million on an immediate replacement for Jota. But perhaps we should be paying £7 to 10 million on someone we can develop into that standard of player. Instead, we paid £4 million on Palma and pretty much got what we paid for. I know that doesn't always happen (Lubo, O'Riley, etc); but it does tend to.

We are looking in good shape in terms of the tactics and the fitness levels. It's clear Rodgers is getting there with HIS style.

We now need to make sure he is backed. 4 or 5 quality players into this team at least till January and we are laughing.

Just don't * this up ffs.

Schmeichel looks like a very good signing but the defence needs addressed urgently.

A week to go until our first game.

Over or under 2.5 signings in the week ahead?

Cannot wait to see how we look once the squad is finalised for the first half of the season. Clean slate for Rodgers and plenty to work with, which he's already worked wonders with.

Few more quality additions and we'll be flying. If we can keep hold of Matt on top of that we'll be a proper CL level team.
