You mean like selling jota and not replacing him? And saying better players is exaggerated also we've not really seen the goalies play yet so time will tell

I don’t know mate. Imo laughable is a fair shout. Feel like we are all heavily labouring the same issues here but as soon as Rodgers let Bernabei go on loan, essentially leaving us with one LB at the club, and one who judging by recent comments, he doesn’t see as his preferred first choice, to not have had one scouted, sounded out and ready to sign is, again imo not laughable but blood scandalous.

Totally agree with the GK situation though. Feel that this is the one thing that is been dealt with very well. Both upgrades on what we had.

I agree on paper the GK position we seem stronger but rather wait and watch them play before I make that judgement

    We replaced him with Palma.

And spent £4m+ (reportedly) on him.

Listen, Bernabai was a punt. We took it, it didn't pay off (most likely because like many players even better than he never settled in Scotland, as well as his off-field issues) - yes, we STILL need a replacement for him, but at least it sounds like we're looking for competition for Greg.

Anderson coming back with a season in Austria is a help too, wee man has looked good so far in pre-season.

Didn’t Rodgers also say at the start of the window that he wanted new signings on the plan to the US for pre-season?

I doubt he just meant two goalkeepers.

I’m hoping he is looking for something more than just competition for GT. From where I sit he gets badly exposed time and time again.

I do think we are going for a better level of player but my worry is we wait too late in the window, targets go elsewhere and we panic buy.

Risk you take I suppose but surely some of these deals could have been expedited by now.

Not telling me every single target we have needs till the last week to make their mind up.

Very difficult to bring players in until the Olympics is finished

He does aye (GT), but he gets some amount of unwarranted abuse (from myself included at times).

If we went into the season with GT as LB, I wouldn't be sitting rage-smashing my keyboard, to be fair.

I doubt Rodgers is best pleased either ad would have hoped for more at this stage. He obviously can't rant and rave like some of but he may just leave again.

He obviously knows much more of what we are doing in the background tho. Reckon he would be a little more vocal this time around if we were doing * all.

Agree totally. His commitment passion and never hiding more than makes up for his other weaknesses for me, as far as criticising him goes.

Any chance someone can private message me when anything happens? Even a rumour, I think its time to preserve my mental health and avoid this thread...

The fact that we look likely to start our league campaign with Scales and Taylor still as first choices is pretty laughable in fairness.

He wasn’t vocal in January when the squad was crying out for fresh bodies coming and at a point where the huns had caught up with us.

spending 4m on a player to replace a 20+mill player is typical of our board. Especially as we spent more than 4 to get jota

How much do we spend then replacing a £20m+ player?

Mind we used to go to the couple of pre season friendlies at Celtic park to see all the new signings. No friendlies arranged this season :97: Is almost like they knew?
