Don't really see the need to get so defensive over this stuff, if Southampton are a diddy team in a big league, you could just as easily turn around and say we're a big team in a diddy league. Green tinted specs off there's plenty of players out there who would much rather sign for any team in the EPL over us in Scotland, playing against better quality week in week out for a team like Southampton is definitely not a step down in the eyes of pros, even if we are a 'bigger' team.

Calmacs view on the MOR saga.

Quizzed on the Denmark international's future, he said: "We’d love him to stay, for sure. Listen, he’s a hugely important player for us. He was important last year and hopefully that will be the case again this year.

“The club has him on a long contract. There’s no reason why we can’t keep him. Even if we keep him for another 12 months he could still be sold for good money.

“Let’s hope that’s how it works out. It’s another year here, another maybe eight or 10 games in the Champions League for him to learn and get even better. We hope we can keep him and don’t see why not. But obviously that’s above my pay grade.”

    Nonsense yet again.

I did not say Twitter followers. You edited my post. But if you do want to bring up Twitter, Southampton do have significantly more Twitter followers than Celtic!

You also lied about the 23k average in the Premier League. It has never been that low at St Mary's. Always circa 30k.

At no point have I said Southampton's attendance was close to Celtic's. But crowds of 30k+ are significantly above all bar the Old Firm in Scotland, so not 'diddy'. Plus Southampton are looking to expand St Mary's to a 40k+ stadium.

Which will still be significantly lower than Celtic's. As I stated out of all the clubs linked to him. Southampton would be bottom of the list in terms of club stature.

Season 21/22. Average just over 23,500.

Also, I can’t edit your post dafty. Away back to your diddy club forum. Is it because there isn’t enough members on it that you come on here? And enjoy life in the Championship when you inevitably go back down in the next 4/5 years.

    Bullshit

The average in 2021/22 was 29,889

You did edit the post, because I did not say what it says in your quote.

If Celtic had Southampton's ticket prices you wouldn't have anywhere near 60k at Celtic Park for league games

£70 for some seats this season

Get back on topic, guys. Nobody gives a * about the attendance at St. Mary's.

    Back on topic of O'Riley...

He has agreed personnel terms with Southampton according to a journalist with very good connections at Saints and is currently with the squad for a training camp in Spain...

Just need to agree a fee with Celtic and for no-one else to gazump the deal.

I Smell Sh*te, like we would even let them get a sniff and a chance to unsettle MOR before a price was agreed.

It seems somewhat unlikely we'd give him permission to speak to Southampton when they haven't come anywhere near our valuation. And if Southampton have been in contact with his agent without permission, well there are rules in place for that.

It happens all the time, Celtic will do exactly the same with players they want to sign. Contracts are very often are decided before clubs agree a fee, clauses and payment structure even if the deal never takes place. Clubs reach out to agents and get these things in place ahead of time.
