Just caught some ads, one was for fosters shandy, fosters is pish enough without adding lemonade to it and the other ad was for zero alcohol Guinness, at the end of the ad the actor takes a swig of the zero alcohol Guinness and I swear I was sure he was going to spit it out but it’s ads not real life. I’ve read that low and zero alcoholic drinks are selling better and better but what’s the point other than if you’re the designated driver?

Point is to reduce the alcohol consumption in the body. The amount of my patients I see due to high alcohol intake is unbelievable . Not only does it cost a lot to partake in but the damage to the liver is amazing and I am seeing patients at 20 years old who's liver is fecked due to alcohol intake when 20 years ago it was people at 60.

Here the Forster shandy cans are really
nice and refreshing. If it keeps folk off the hard stuff or allows them to enjoy an alcoholic drink a bit more responsibly then all good.

Have occasionally had low/no alcohol beers, mainly when driving. I remember a family house party where my brother and cousins were giving me stick for it (this was a few years ago when they were still new on the market) and now I’ve seen the same cousins drink the same. :giggle1:

It’s good to have the option if you like a beer and don’t want to get drunk. Or if you want a non-alcoholic drink but don’t want fizzy juice etc in a pub.

The popularity of them is also helped by the fact that a lot of people are more health conscious these days.

This is how I felt when I had a three and a half year spell off it. I drink again now but a lot more rarely than I used to. Been pished three times this year and that feels like plenty.

I'd drink zero guinness now and again. Particularly if I'm out on a all day effort. I'd break up the regular guinness and add a few zeros in the middle to last the pace.

For me i feel a lot better mentally and physically, i can do a 12 mile walk, years ago that would be unthinkable, i'm really appreciating the benefits, but like yersel wouldn't bother me having the odd drink here or there, just don't have the same enthusiasm for it that i once did.

Do like it now and again and they've got better, but they're * incredibly expensive and don't see how pubs and shops can justify the price, considering that * Scots alcohol price based on % supposedly.

A pal I knows a full blown alchy. Well he was, older boy, early 50s but had some serious health scares. Now 6 months sober but loves 0% stuff because in his mind it gives him the same feeling cracking a pint open for the game with the boys etc. Kept him off it this long, it's a miracle :56:

I know people who find the taste of 1 bottle cold refreshing but they don't want to drink. My brother in law loves alcohol free Guinness too.

Fosters is * but I could imagine lemonade making it drinkable.

    I wouldn't drink them..

Don't drink a lot at all but when I do I like to be drunk/tipsy in the end. For me I don't like having a couple and going home....find it pointless personally. If my pals say a couple I swerve it completely unless I know we're out and can be corrupted :BR1:

Accidentally bought some 3.4% coronas a while back and didn't like them one bit :giggle1:

Completely and utterly pointless to me but I can see why others would like the taste without the effects.

If I’ve got the car it’s soft drinks, they taste far better.

Would drink the zero guinness if driving. Tastes fine, decent substitute for the real thing.

I've never liked the taste of beer enough to bother with alcolohol free. Would rather just have fizzy juice.

    It's not for me.
