Soz lads but DOOM is the goatest of all time. Unbelievable lyrics. Modern day rappers can't compare in my opinion.

Way I see it mate, rap is basically mainstream. SnoopDogg though I got love for his music, I wouldn't regard him as an emcee any more. Rap in essence is controlled by the mainstream, there's alot of money and power invested into what the young are listening to. Its a crucial time for development in a young persons mind, guys like Snoop were given an ultimatum and nice incentives. Point is that rappers are basically pop stars in my view, which in the grand scheme of things is okay, but there's so much more artistry, craft, natural flow, lyricxal skill and imagination in hiphop music.

Still have all my old cd’s - 2Pac,Nas and Ice Cube feature most.Wu Tang and their solo efforts as well!

You’ve got folk putting Nicki Minaj,Megan the Stallion,Drake in top tens these days.

Think Illmatic has aged better than any of Pacs music, though I’d say I’m a bigger fan of his than Nas. But Illmatic is like the holy grail of rap, that and 36 chambers is probably my 2 favourite rap albums ever.

Illmatic was a few years too early for me. I first heard Nas on It was written. Some felt let down by Nas second album after illmatic, they even said he sold out but I disagreed. Solid album in my opinion. Then Nastradamus came out and even more people said it was whack compared to illmatic but again it was a good album. Track 5,6,7,8,910,11 all classic tunes
