    No.
Our track record is poor, I do suspect they are waiting until MOR moves then the knee * reaction will be to get some more random projects again.
We all know where the squad needs improvement, I am sure a lot of hard work is being in the background but frustration is creeping in due to our reactive transfer policy.

Taylor and Scales starting first game of the season now then you’d think. Scandalous.

We are 40 days into the Summer transfer window - just over half way. The squad needs major overhaul if we are to improve - particularly in Europe - 100% in Europe. We have all seen this picture before. Any leaks that ever come out about how we conduct transfer business makes us look like a Bowling Club. We've signed some good players over the years, granted, but so many of these I think are offered to us by agents we have worked with before, or with Kyogo etc, via Ange.

There is very, very little I have seen in years to suggest we have any kind of proactive clue to how to operate anywhere near the level we should be operating at. Many, many fans can see this and this is one place where they come to vent. It does nothing sadly, but you cannot seriously believe that in the entire World of Football, a club of our size, with it's current financial liquidity cannot find a better Left Back than Greg Taylor? Or a better partner to CCV than Liam Scales? Or just a Central Defensive midfielder - I mean, on the entire planet, our club cannot scout a single defensive midfielder that is not Kwon from the 2nd division army team in Korea?

This is exactly what * people off. We are not a good European side and there's very little drive for us to become one. There have been glaring holes in our starting eleven for window after window and little seems to be done to fix them. There's no drive, no impetus, and all we get are excuses. They're asleep at the wheel, happy to bank money from player sales and ignore our decline relative to clubs in comparable leagues. There isn't even an ambition to stay where we are so long as we remain profitable in decline.

Agree word for word bar the last bit, our ambition is still to stay ahead of a hamstrung hun team but absolutely nothing beyond that.

Thought I'd have a look at Man City forum there. They have a 'shadow squad' and are sick of their TV platform as fast as I can gather from 5 mins.

If we’d lost the league to them there would be 3 or 4 first team ready players in the door already.

They’ve shown in the past they’ll spend when their ego is hurt.

As it stands we are a poor team. Limped over the line against a rotten Hun side due to a bit of quality management at the right time and the contribution of some highly experienced players.

We always need to hit rock bottom before they’ll strengthen and I’ve no idea why.

Still no worried but would like us to get a move on..

Genuinely still confident this time that we'll get it done and make some signings that are better than what we've got currently..

Very true but I’m thinking say it was basically done a couple days ago if he got a flight say yday to America he’s only arrive today probably wouldn’t train until like Thursday/Friday and most likely not play in the chelsea match so perhaps a lot of travelling for nothing. Whereas he can stay with benfica and train hard then join up afterwards. I seen somewhere that he wasn’t in their last 2 squads so possibly an agreement not to play incase of an injury but for him still to train? All just conjecture from me here trying to find a positive in it tbh :giggle1:

We know KS is a Rodgers signing, do we think that if and when more players are brought in they will be Rodgers signings as well ?

Take all that but again it's the fact we've been here window after window saying the same stuff. If we end up seeing the same * again end of the window we will just be back in January saying wait till the 31st, again. That's why I think people venting is justified. They may be proven wrong, hopefully are, but there's reason behind the vent.

There always seems to be some sort of excuse. Hopefully this is the window it changes but for me, we don't actually have that much time to get everything I thjnk we need done. Especially not at the pace we do things.

Hoping for once no news ends up being good news.

Not a terrible idea and theory on it.
I'd still rather, as a personal thing, that he trained with us in some capacity than with benfica if the deal is done.
Even if that is a short week to America not to play, but to be with the squad, or in Glasgow with the backroom staff and anyone left behind to keep fitness etc.

But that is just a personal desire, what you've said also would make sense. Injury shouldn't occur of it's just basic training at benfica.

I think regardless of how long it’s taking he’ll be in the door as soon as we’re back from the states and he’ll have more or less a full preseason with benfica so will hit the ground running. He seemed quite eager to get it done at the start of the window so always a good sign that we have a good player with options wanting to come here and do a job for us. Think he’s gonna be class for us this season

We are another Kyogo shoulder pop away from having 0 strikers available, if the Idah move isn’t imminent by the time we come back from America its time to move on and get the ball rolling on other targets.
