In their mind they probably already do and his name is Paulo Bernardo. Now that is utter crap and you and I know that but thats what my guess is the boards mindset. The idea of actually trying to make us better is simply not something they have any interest in doing IMHO.

I think the board will consider that Bernardo is his replacement. It will be IMHO the typical mentality of the Celtic board not willing to aim higher just looking to do enough to stay on top domestically and bank the cash.

It will be Bernardo in the boards mindset.

To be fair as much as I despise the Celtic boards refusal to aim higher they do know how to bank cash and not even they will say yes to anything offered in the teens IMHO.

Now that I can see happening with a sell on clause as well no doubt.

Nah they'll insert the same sell on clause in. Will only be a year or two until he's at Liverpool for £90 anyway.

I don't think they will see Bernardo as a replacement for MOR, he can't bring to the team what MOR does, Brendan will know this, we need quality players in the door and there's no getting away from it.

Despite everything and the moaning lol, i still think we're gonna see a few coming in that will improve the team.

I hope your right. But sadly for me I have absolutely no belief in the Celtic board to do anything that might actually push our level higher and to aim higher when it comes to Europe. Totally agree with you on Bernardo as well. I do like him and think he will be a good player for us and will do well and improve under Rodgers but there is zero question that O'Riley by a distance is a better player.

I'd hope we'd get a wee bit more than £25m but it's probably the minimum we'd be looking for. Would be nice if it started a bidding war.

I’d be hoping to hit £30m tbh but I reckon £25m with a good sell on percentage would do it. He’ll probably move on for double the fee in a couple years

Let's be honest, he could go for £40m and these * wouldn't spend a penny of it anyway.

Have the money to get all our business done and sign O'reillys replacement before hes even out the door, he will leave late on in the window and we will probably tie up Idah and Bernardo and that will be us.

Well I guess it’s better than €18m from those tightwads at Atalanta…

I reckon we'll sign both and definitely a few more.

Won't come close to acquiring what we actually need though. I'll be gobsmacked if we sign 4 or 5 first team quality players, which is the bare minimum imo.

It’s sad that any of us think like that..

    … but we do… because it’s true…

Other clubs fans get excited about big incoming transfer fees because they know that a sizeable chunk if not all will be invested in players or infrastructure…

We just see an ever-increasing bank balance

It should be exciting… but it is actually quite depressing and just breeds ambivalence when it comes to capitalising on our best assets.
