Glad he’s on the flight, get a few last games and let the clubs bidding fight it out.

Seems the sort, a bit like Petrov, that he's willing to do the club a turn here.
Not outwardly pushing the sale, knows it's coming, but probably happy to let us hold on til later in the window. He's gonna get some decent games against big names and perhaps show his ability. Interest increases, albeit friendlies.

It's a new year for PSR & they have players that they will be selling. It's worth 100's of millions to stay in the Premier. They can afford 30 mil.

You can’t be talking about Stan? He sulked like a big wean at a Title party for a move :56:

I was, but more that he done the gentleman's agreement of signing the new deal the year before, knowing we would allow his move the following year.

Was it a gentleman's agreement though? I remember when he was sulking about a move he said he instantly regretted signing it

Perhaps? I was younger and it's been awhile
My memory is always be wanted to move the year before he did, bit signed the new deal to ensure we got a fee for him.

Not sure what the ins or outs was mind.

He will not go to Leicester whether they have money or not. They are about to get deducted points before they even start. He will not leave us to go to a relegation dog fight.

He has higher ambitions than that.

My understanding is that he wants the exposure that the Premier League brings so that he can force his way onto the Danish national side. My guess is that he would prefer a mid table or better club but then how much game time would he get. I think Leicester will stay up & maybe the fact that they have three Danish internationals may influence him.

If Atletico still have solid interest in him, he’d be daft to not take that option. Him under Simeone could develop into up there with the best midfielders playing, its the fact how great defensively he is which is something Simeone will develop a lot more than he’ll get at us and then add in just how creative he is, whilst not being wasteful with the ball as well.

Everything about him screams a player Simeone would develop to the next level, in a team in the top teams of one of the best leagues in the world. With some real football talent in it rather than what can happen down south where the talent can come second to the running and athletic side of the game.

If he can’t go there, the only option I’ve heard that makes sense EPL links is Brighton but that’s went very quiet, and with their manager leaving I can see that project going the way of Southampton now.

Clever move for him is go abroad, look at Lewis Ferguson in Serie A. Sadly for him, clever move for us is punt him to England, he counts as homegrown, so automatically that’s worth an extra £5m odd at least with that tick box. There’s a reason average * that never plays goes for £20m plus down there to tick a box for the squad.

This and the fact he is also extremely professional, he’ll not go awol when nothings been accepted. And if the right bid doesn’t come in, I don’t think he’d go in the huff, he’d do more so somecunt pays that fee and not * about with €15m bids like Atalanta did

If Liverpool actually want him, we should be aiming for north of £30m.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Liverpool interest is real. Of course that could be all it is, a passing interest. But I remember reading that when he was at MK Dons Liverpool's data analysts highlighted him being around the top percentile for a bunch of different attacking and creative metrics, so they've known about him for years.

Not a chance Liverpool would be looking at him.
