    To compound the English misery, Argentina won the Copa America as well...

    I honestly think nobody else will take him on so he'd be mental to leave England.

    It’s * hilarious hearing them still absolutely mystified at the fact they weren’t able to go out and pump Spain the way they did England totally ignoring the fact Spain are just light years ahead of them technically.

    England are full of ‘moments’ players, guys who will occasionally be able to pull something out of nothing cause they’re pretty talented, whereas Spain were just full of technically gifted players who’ll pass it round stereotypically British players like Rice all night if they want to.

    Southgate is the fall guy, and don’t get me wrong he’s not a good coach by any stretch of the imagination, however they continually overlook the fact their players just aren’t as good as what they think they are. It’s constantly rammed down our throat every tournament they turn up to they have the best squad and most talented players. Until they learn that isn’t actually the case they’ll never get anywhere.

    Harry Kane started playing professionally when Lamine Yamal was 2 and Yamal still won a trophy before him.

    Nailed it...and have had billions pumped in their game. Biggest underachievers of all time are England.

    I wonder how many ‘years of hurt’ they will get to before they actually win something..??

    100 won’t quite fit in too well.

    I suppose if/when they do finally win something…. they might at least stop fukn singing it.

    Amazing how the teams that beat them are always "on the ropes"

    Wow…. That was like a late night dose of snort!

    The pleasure I’m getting from their misery is making me question my personality type… but then I think…

    No! Fuckem!

    I am absolutely loving hearing about tossers who’ve paid thousands £££ to go to that final no and watch failure again.

    * spending 4 and 5 grand a ticket.

    * magic.

    I quite liked him. Unambitious and I can see the frustration with the lack of attacking football, but he got them results. Wasn’t enough to prevent the dog’s abuse he got from the filth that is their core support.

    That and he was fairly humble and modest, unlike what you’d usually associate with them.

    That said, the prospect of them under a more attack-minded manager scares me a bit. The talent is there.

    Southgate did fine. Got them to a point where they beat teams they should beat, and hold their own against teams they should hold their own.

    Their media are fawning over him. They really don't do half measures when it comes to their team.

    40/1 on Michael Beale would be my pick :50:
