I'd be shocked if this wasn't in the pipeline and verbally agreed for a few weeks.

I like it, a solid experienced keeper, better than some numpty * we barely know.

Lot of pressure being a keeper for us and potential to derail a season if the fans don't trust you. Could get 3 seasons out him if he is physically fine, although I do feel he bottled it and sold a goal at the Euros there was one game he was going to run out and should have but stopped and backed off and the guy scored, wasn't a massive blunder but a question mark over him having the legs to run out his box for a ball, seemed he doubted himself even though his initial instincts were to go for it.

At the end of the day, he will be an upgrade on Hart-better shot stopper, at crosses and at penalties.

I hope this becomes the new norm for us. Experienced keepers coming here to win more trophies and finish their careers on a high.

The likes of Hart and Schmeichel who have won the biggest competitions, rather than them dropping into a * team like a Bournemouth when the Premier League sees them as done, they come here for their last contracts to continue that winning big club feeling, this is what I can get onboard with. Much better than a £5m punt from the Greek league who can’t handle the stage they are on.

Taking ages this. Lawell must be negotiating over a £1 a week on his wage.

It is now certain that Kasper Schmeichel will undergo his medical checkup on Tuesday before the switch to Celtic. It happens in Italy. On Thursday, he will be with his new team in the USA, where there is a training camp. The contract will be for one year with an option for a further season.

Kasper Schmeichel's medical check-up will take place in Italy on Tuesday, before he is with his new teammates from Celtic in the USA on Thursday, Tipsbladet can reveal.

Kasper Schmeichel now knows where and when the medical check-up before the switch to Celtic must be.

Tipsbladet can reveal that the Danish national team player is going through it in Italy, and that it will take place on Tuesday, before he joins his new team in the USA on Thursday at their preseason training camp.

The plan was originally for the national team star to have it all done at the weekend, but the clinics in Italy moved the time to Tuesday.

But it will happen within the next day, and then Kasper Schmeichel will have his future in place.

As Tipsbladet could reveal on Friday evening, the Dane agreed to become Matt O'Riley's teammate at Celtic, and it is on a one-year deal with the option of another season with the Scottish champions.

A team that is managed by a very well-known manager for Kasper Schmeichel in Brendan Rodgers.

The two also worked together at Leicester for just over three years, where Brendan Rodgers had his Danish goalkeeper as a safe stronghold in the team.

Very soon there is a reunion, and then the Champions League calls and a fight for another championship.

Kasper Schmeichel thus returns to the British Isles, where he made his name in football.

Aye that's brilliant. Forgot about that.

Assuming you are a Dane - thoughts on his recent form for the national team?

1 year with an option, screams out sensible and planning with the other younger keeper.

Other one comes in and becomes the number one, thank you and good luck Kasper.
Other keeper flops like Barkas, we take up the option and go again for another option.

I’m happy with this. Great keeper, okay a bit older but I think Hart had another 2 years in him. But he has had a massive career and wanted to go out on a high. Kasper has what? One EPL title to his name years ago. He has a lot to still do.

I was one of the few that was happy when we signed Hart and I’m very confident in 6 months time you will all be singing his praises.
