While he’s obviously been utilised on the left wing far more often than he has anywhere else on the pitch, his stats from the right actually look pretty good. It’s hard to judge just going off of pure stats like that without full context, but I could see Maeda/Palma on the left and him playing on the right being something to at least consider.

 

18 goals in 98 games as a forward in the Belgien league? Correct me please but that sounds awful? Is he a playmaking winger? That would make the stats calm me down

Traditionally left but can play right or through the middle. So if he is signed I think he's the guy coming in to play anywhere across the front 3, I have no issues with a winger being our 3rd choice striker.

 

Last season in the league he had a goal contribution every other game. He also played and scored in the Champions League. You are also seeing his whole career stats and he made his debut aged 18 and unsurprisingly the stats for his first 2 years aren't as good.

 

I like the sound of him, takes freekicks and is a hardworking solid defensive type player who can play on both wings and midfield.

Does more than double the amount of tackling and intercepting than Maeda.

Last season as well in the League and CL he scored 8 goals from 6.67xG and Maeda got 6 goals from 9.17xG.

Created an average of 1.5 chances per game in the League and CL as well compared to 0.5 from Maeda.

Could be a good mix between a solid defensive wide player like Maeda and a creative wide player like Palma for European games, him on the left, Maeda on the right.

Excited about this one, he seems to score in the big games for Antwerp (he scored in both the 2023 Belgian Cup final & 2023 Belgian Super Cup Final).

His stats are impressive too, hope this happens.

 

For a winger I wouldn’t focus on just goals it would be goal contributions and so if you change it to goals and assists it’s 34 in 98 games which isn’t too bad and then considering age and then the likeliness of him playing more minutes in the last year or so it shows he’s improving with room to get better. Stats also don’t paint the full picture as he could’ve put the ball on a plate for someone 10 times per game and whether they take their chance or not isnt his fault

 

Plus there league is alot more competitive than ours so should double that for us

 

If he doesn’t get 40 goals this season he can * off

I don’t want to get too attached yet but this would be a great signing.

Don't think rodgers fancied him much anyway

 

bit out of nowhere this one but definitely a welcome signing if it goes through, He's played for the Belgian U21 national team too and was thought to be heading for a top 5 league. Be a good one to get in.
