He's a waster and those pay as you play things people live to suggest just don't exist

 

I definitely would worry that his attitude would stink out the place. That said, I wouldn’t be totally against a trial if he’s someone Rodgers thought he could get a tune out of.

“Pay as you play” type deals do exist (and we have used them). It’s obviously not the case that the player doesn’t get paid at all if they don’t play, but instead that they receive a relatively modest salary propped up with an appearance bonus. McCarthy’s contract leans quite heavily towards bonuses I believe and Scott Sinclair’s was certainly impacted by playing time and goals, to give two recent examples.

Kind of think it gets forgotten/overlooked just how good he was. Would love a similar player to him for our right side just now - quick, direct, exciting, goal threat. Sadly none of our right wingers (Forrest aside) seems to tick any of those boxes.

Christian Eriksen has reportedly been made available by Man Utd. Iv always loved him as a player, really classy and still has a lot to offer.
Dont think it would happen for a list of reasons, not least his high wages, but i think he could be a top player for at least a season for us.

 

At 32 I'd take him for his experience and still good ability. Wages maybe not as bad as we imagine. Well, his current would be, but what he asks for may be reasonable.

Unfortunately, at 32, I'd imagine there is a fair few European clubs who would happily take him on and could offer him better than us.

His issue was confidence after a depression which is a real shame for the boy.
With the right team/fans and manager he could be back to his best with a little work.
Maybe not though, just a thought

Antwerp have an option to buy for around 7-8 million euro's but it doesn't look like they've activated it yet, and with their supposed Financial problems he could be going back to Leuven.

 

It’s usually the type of signing the huns would go for on big wages, but my opinion of him changed when he done his interview talking about his struggles. At 28, if he found the right club, I think he could be a brilliant signing in the right environment. There’s no doubt that he was a quality player.

I'm I being too bold suggesting Jaka Bijol of Udinese CB played really well for Slovenia at the Euros rated at 9 mill (probably more now).....if we're gonna sell Nawrocki and Lagerbielke he'd be a solid signing to partner CCV

 

Always wary of tournament shopping, it’s expensive business for what could be a couple of blinders that’s not there actual level.


Also usually think anyone thats impressed at a Euros/World Cup etc. ends up with that many teams sniffing about we’d not be able to get them either
