It's finally all quiet here as the cicadas 17 year invasion is basically done. Other than that I have noticed quite a few young bunnies lately but nothing much going at the moment here.

I am very upset and angry this morning. Just got a message from a good friend of mine in the highlands. A Goshawk nest sight that I found last spring and enjoyed observing this spring has been abandoned because of an evil attack.

Some evil scum that almost certainly work on the actual estate blew the nest away with young with a shotgun. My anger and emotions are all over the show. I am going to ask a couple of people that live there to check the secret gossip. These horrible beings are not going to get away with this.

Evil is the word. All people that are evil to wildlife and animals should be strung up with extra tight piano wire.

Wish I lived there because * * i would find out the scum that did it. And I would have the shitheads in tears !!

That truly is disgusting. The utter depravity of those people attacking defenseless animals like that. I can only say that as human beings they are a failure on an epic scale.

I really enjoyed seeing the local pair of Peregrine showing very well this morning on my local patch. They were very vocal and you could clearly see the female being the bigger bulkier bird. With Ruby Roo of course.

A few from Lough Gill at the weekend, i've been watching the Swan and her young for the last few weeks, she had 8 Cygnets around the end of April, then 5, then 3 for a couple of weeks, then down to 2 for the last fortnight, now unfortunately she has only one surviving, hopefully this wee one gets big enough to evade predation :54:

My late father in-law loved kingfishers, every time I see a picture of them it makes me smile and remember the good times with him, keep the beautiful pictures coming folks as this thread always brings a so much pleasure to so many of us.

I didn’t know there were Pine Martens in Ireland…

This one hangs around my house in the highlands…

Tries to steal all the bird-balls …

    … and the local chickens.

Pine Martens are pretty widespread here Stevie, that's a great picture of a very handsome lad/lassie.

I went for a lovely pure dusk walk with Ruby today and I was delighted to see my first Barn Owl since December 2018!!!

The beautiful bird was on a fence post at the edge of the village near my housing estate. Then the beauty flew right past us, it was now 10.20pm

I’ve not got pics that will upload, but I’ve had some cracking sightings recently.

a pair of Bullfinches in my garden, they were really big and the male was so vivid. Just beautiful.

There is a young fox that comes to the front French doors every night around 8.30 to just stare in at one of the cats!

On way to work at 6.30 this morning I saw a fox casually stroll across a footbridge above me and it paused to look down. Made me laugh at the role reversal!

I’ve got some images but seem to be too large to upload for some reason!!!!

I thought the Police organised by EX FM were supposed to be prioritising things like this.We had a large colony of Red Bodied Damsels which are apparently rare in this area,I sent an e mail to Angus live when we found them but they still sent in the Chop squad. No reply to e mail about dams forming possibly stopping trout grrtting up a spawning burn from a local reservoir either .Suppose I am in dreamland he also sorted out Health and Transport suppose Nature would ne next.
