    The fact that Rodgers used to work with him also speaks volumes for our recruitment. It's like with Ange, most players we signed were guys he identified and picked up the phone to. You can imagine Rodgers walking into the meeting like, "really, we've still not identified a keeper? Listen, I know a guy..." I would be willing to bet that is exactly what happened.

    Unless the cheap option is actually the best keeper available? Sure I'd rather we signed David de gea, or some 29 year old hot shot. (I dont want a young guy for the board to sell and hored more money)

    I don't know what or who's available, but as a keeper he's actually an upgrade on what we had. For how long, aye we don't know. Still another keeper to come, maybe we can spend big on a young 20 year old to play in the cup.

    Our our "recruitment team", as the usually do came up with a bunch of sub standard players who fit the lawwell criteria. Rodgers has said * that I'll just phone my own guy, give him a years deal by which point both me and him will be done next summer and the next * can deal with it

    I think he's quite clearly better than Jensen but at 37 that can all go south rather quickly. Setting the lack of ambition and long-term planning aside, it's not without its risks.

    That's an absolutely laughable comparison. We made a huge profit on Jota. Same would happen with any young goalie who came here and smashed it out the park. By your logic our whole squad should just sign free players who are past their best as investing money in anyone decent is pointless as they'll leave. I guess signing Matt O'Riley for £1.5M and selling him for £25M+ is awful business too as he only stayed here 2 years...
