Some similar comments in here to when we were signing joe hart mind. He’ll be good. Will bring experience and is literally only finished in a euro campaign. Tbf best goalkeeper we’ve been linked with. We just need to be proactive with getting in someone to take over from him when he’s leaving. Hopefully get him in quick nnhave a proper look at him in America

There's a reason this is being leaked out at 10pm on a Friday night.

It's all a bit meh...Still decent but all short term. We're clearly a * shambles behind the scenes.

But, if its him as our number 1. He'll have my full backing.

    Let's try be positive.

Our top recruitment team have decided that Vindahl Jenssen is the absolute baws and he's the man that we want but Sparta are refusing to do business on someone they only signed in March and don't want to leave themselves scrambling about looking for a keeper mear weeks before season starts (imagine that), but he's so good we are prepared to wait another year to get him. So we've went and brought in a reliable keeper to do a job for a year before we finally get out man for the long term.

My main concern with this, if true, is that players at that age are more prone to injuries, and also take longer to recover, and our current back ups are terrifying. It's why I was hoping we would have brought in a keeper last summer with a view to taking over this year while providing competition and back up to Hart. If we do that along with Kasper I'd be ok with that, but we just don't work that way.

Maybe so but it's absolutely making even more of a mockery of our so-called scouting department who clearly have no confidence in their ability to spy a suitable keeper.

"Kick the can down the road"

How about you get that saying and stick it right up your *. We're not real Madrid, players will not stay here for 10 years. We pay for a young keeper, if he's good he's gone in 2 years. We get a great old keeper? He's here for 2-3 years. What's your point with the can? Mind that time we paid for jota and gave him the big 5 year contract? Thank * we never kicked the can down the road there. Sold 12 months later.

Replacing the 37yo keeper we signed on a free with... a 37yo keeper signed on a free. Standard stuff, no surprises.

I'd sign any player that sends Blochairnbhoy into a fit of rage tbh. On ye go big Kasper.

Guaranteed he will be dropped from the Denmark squad noo as he's in the SPL. No annoyed at it, but it's such a lazy singing from the board.
We're genuinely an embarrassment with our lack of recruitment strategy, process, dept.

Apparently Anderlecht were in the mix according to Twitter. A little reassuring that they wanted him back.

They did offer him a new one year deal. He turned it down.

Wouldn't be celebrating this but wouldn't be angry with it either. But feel it would just mean recruiting again next year.

Rodgers has worked with him and if he didn't want him I don't think he'd be signing.

Still a very good and an experienced keeper and l’ve always liked him. We could sign a good younger keeper and we’d still be looking for a replacement in 2 years

I get this 100% - completely. The feeling is as per we’re taking the cheap option which sums up what we’ve done for years. If we had signed a few players before and it looked as though we were pushing to strengthen rather than weaken in the window I think this signing would be seen differently. But the fact is we’re awash with cash and it looks as though Bernardo and Idah are this seasons CCV and Jota headline signings - could be speaking too soon but as it stands it’s so deflating
