His contract is up in a year and there is absolutely no chat of a new deal. Imo that tells you how much Rodgers rates him. Look all throughout Rodgers career, Taylor is nowhere near the profile of full back he plays. Rodgers had to change his style last year to accommodate Taylors many, many defincicies.

There is absolutely no way he can be our starting LB this season. I agree about giving Anderson/frame opportunity to be 2nd choice but 2nd choice to an actual good left back

 

Tbf non of them are regularly starters the other two incredibly are and at this moment in time still are

 

Left back is our weakest outfield position along with left centre back. They are musts for upgrades along with a gk obviously, then we still need a creative cm, striker and perhaps a right winger. Our defence is so poor though it has to be addressed. We need to get real busy real quick this window.

The fact we don’t have a first choice goal
Keeper in by now is * criminal, no two ways about it.

It seems we have no * clue regarding transfers.

The fact we haven’t brought someone in is we are waiting for others, which shouldn’t be the case and we should have had our number 1 target signed and in the door already.

We simply can’t * about with this and the last two windows have been nothing short of * abysmal.

 

Would agree with ye there mate but lack of left back rumours is quite concerning. Taylor should only ever be back up for us so would be happy replacing him with Anderson to be back up after the good loan spell he had and bring in some quality at left back and also left centre back.

 

We have a large amount of money in the bank, we should have had a first choice goalkeeper in the door, there is absolutely no excuse for that.

 

Lack of any credible rumours is concerning all round but Left back, goalkeeper and Centre back are all massively needing upgraded and need addresses b4 start of the season.

Imagine 3 of your starting 11 being, Bain, Taylor and Scales. That's * frightening

I thought this season we would go for a rebuild, build from a position of strength type of thing. It's why I was happy with bringing back Bernardo and Idah, to help with some continuity.

Clearly not.

To the first team I think we'll only see a new CB and GK. In reality we should also be adding a first team LB, CM and winger.

We'll go for Bernardo to be MOR's replacement, meaning we start with McGregor/Bernardo/Hatate. Iwata and Lawal/Holm will be pushed up as backup.

Cheap punt at LB to be backup to Taylor.

No wingers brought in, persist with Maeda on one side and Kuhn/Palma given the chance until January on the other.

Another year of stagnation or even regression. Pumped in the CL. Board happy to just be marginally better than Rangers and continue to do the bare minimum.

 

What the * made you think that? When have we ever built from a position of strength?

We started last season weaker than the previous and the previous season we didn't improve on how we finished 21/22.

 

I'm just saying we all want a pathway for young players to come through and Taylor will be the clubs first choice. So in those circumstances I'd be happy giving Anderson frame, Kobayashi an opportunity to stake a claim as back up over the next three games. If the situation is dire after that we can ring up our amigos in Lisbon

I 100% agree with everyone here. Taylor wouldn't be my first choice lb either.. BUT he wouldn't be my second choice either. That spot should be for Anderson or frame.. I can't see the club not going with Taylor as first choice lb come start of season ..
