Doubt it, why would they put the clause in when they signed him as they were flying high at the time.

Teams only do this when they get promoted or near the edge of relegation each season like Everton etc.

I think most teams in the PL have them regardless, would be very surprised if Leicester didn’t have them.

Hoping it's just lazy journalism and we're not looking at overpaid English players now that Rodgers is back, though that is something that concerned me with him coming from england is he'd have his eye on players down there and want us to push the boat out for ones that don't represent real value for us with their over-inflated wages, even if they would do job for us we still have to work within a reasonable wage structure and be wary of upsetting other starters not on nearly as much.

    You think, or you know?

Time and time again teams have gone down who haven’t had them in their contacts and struggled due to not being able to shift the players on long deals this has been well publicised.

Prime example is Everton, they would have been * due to none of their players having it, far too many big earners would have caused them financial ruin with the FFP hanging over them too.

He joined in 2017 after they won the league, there is no chance they had a clause in for relegation.

the yo-yo teams have this in their contracts not the established teams.

these teams like WBA, Norwich have the clause in but they also have the clause for their wages to go up if they get promoted and down if they get relegated.

Wilfred Ndidi is not a serious transfer target for Celtic this summer, Football Scotland understands.

The Leicester City midfielder, 26, was linked with a potential move to Parkhead after Brendan Rodgers was confirmed as the new manager in Glasgow. Ndidi joined the Foxes back in 2017 before Rodgers arrived with Claudio Ranieri a big fan of the then-Genk defensive player. But the Nigerian went on to become one of Rodgers' most trusted players and has made more than 230 Premier League appearances in his six years at the King Power

Following Leicester's relegation to the Championship after a dismal season and the subsequent arrival of his former gaffer at the Hoops, the natural link was made with reports suggesting £9million might be enough to coax City into selling the player

But sources have told Football Scotland that it is not currently a deal Celtic are pursuing at this time as Rodgers continues to weigh up his options in the squad ahead of his first day with the players.

I really see N'Didi and Daka being hits at Celtic. Daka can bag 25 -30 goals in this league for sure and N'Didi with his premier league and international experience could be a monster for us in midfield for next five years.
Two class signings for Celtic, 10 million for the pair to make us more competetive in Champions League games

Would be exactly what we should be signing, but never will. The board dont share our ambition.

We are paying what we did 25 years ago. Should step it up wage wise also. Would probably not be able to afford anyone but we would attract much more players. The club can afford it. Im sure the board are not sitting on the same wage as they did in 1999.

McGowan has already said "celtic will not look to deviate away from their tried and trusted structure in terms of signing and salaries"

Am I the only one who hates qualifying for Champions League but rarely see us get out of the group???? We get pumped year after year.....
If the board members are reading this, we NEED players the quality of Daka and N'Didi now please before someone else snaps them up for no fee but decent wages.

I get the business model and wage structure, but the odd Hollywood signing here and there wouldn't go amiss, give everyone a boost, supporters and players alike.

I reckon the wage structure cap is a bit higher than some maybe think. Offering 45k a week isn’t out with our current budgets and that should be enough to tempt some good quality players.

We just need better scouting, there’s literally hundreds of examples of players going for buttons and then moving on for tens of millions, Brighton being probably the easiest club to look at for several examples. We need to find the gems before they’re polished, just like MOR.

Aye exactly, i assume the Board do realise that you get 2.4 mil for every game you win in the CL, speculate to accumulate.

And that is exactly the reason to why we can expect to get pumped in Europe year in year out.
