Raducanu getting a bit too much grief for pulling out of the doubles. She maybe shouldn’t have committed, but I think she’s been surprised herself by her own run and she’s right to prioritise it.

Sucks for Murray, but it is what it is, regardless of what Judy thinks.

 

Nah. If you put your name forward then you see it through. If she has pulled out because she has gotten further than she thought in the singles, then it shows she clearly has a * mindset about her own ability. I’m not a big Murray fan, but it’s pish patter from Raducanu.

 

She’s feeling tightness on the wrist she had surgery on three times last year. Andy would’ve been the first to tell her to pull out imo. He got the send off he deserved the other day.

 

Her team should advised her to turn it down in the first place. Would have avoided all this. She was always pulling out to prioritise winning singles.

 

Judy Murray has always had too much to say. What other parents of top sports people have tried to make themselves celebrities the way she has?
Andy has had a brilliant career, got his send off and a mixed doubles match would have made no difference whatsoever.

 

The Williams sisters' Dad and a few other tennis parents have, tbf.

But I agree with you, the mixed doubles was a nice gesture for the two of them but ultimately he got the send off he deserved.

 

If she thought there was a chance she couldn’t see the competition through, don’t enter it. Simple. If it was down to injury then of course that is different, but she has pulled out because she doesn’t want to be competing on two fronts, that much is obvious. If she was injured she would be pulling out the singles as well, but she isn’t.

 

She said a tightness in the wrist which means it's still playable. You'd be surprised at the amount of tennis players playing through a minor injury in any given tournament.

 

Don’t put your name forward for both tournaments then.

She has made it further than she thought she would in the singles, that’s why she has pulled out the doubles. Basically, she didn’t back herself to go far. To pull out one whilst still competing in the other is pish patter.

Raducanu has struggled like * this match. Think the wrist niggle has seriously affected her confidence.

 

Surprised she’s still in this. Looked out of her depth in that first set. Sun was overpowering her constantly.

Hopefully this injury is nothing serious.

 

Just imagine Bjorn Borg with these conditions and modern day rackets and modern day back up
