£8m for a player to come off the bench? Signing Idah doesn't make us stronger next season. It keeps us treading water on the level we were at.

 

Not doubting the 3.5m, but wasn't the story that Celtic left it late in the window to do the deal (or rather Norwich may have), and there wasn't time to negotiate for a bit option?
If they had already agreed at 3.5m with the Italian team, I find it baffling that we didn't just ask for that straight off the bat as well.

According to the BBC, Norwich have turned down a second bid of £5m.

 

This is exactly what the huns said when we signed Jota and CCV.

Any top side needs two quality strikers, minimum.

 

We want 8 (knowing you aint getting that)
We offer 4 (knowing they want, most likely 6 and while knowing the full story)
We agree on about 6, likely, in the end.

See people saying he's not a £6m player, who is a £6m player we should be going for today? Genuinely not sure what people are looking for. We needed someone to come in, make a difference and score goals and he did that, playing a huge part in making it a successful season domestically.

 

Unless I'm missing it, are they referring to a second bid, or the bid that was rejected yesterday? They say the bid was in the ballpark of £4-£5 million, which was what was rejected yesterday.

It would be very Lawell to bid £4.5-£5 million after having £4 million turned down yesterday, but if Mark Hendry says it's close to completion, I'd tend to believe him.

 

I'm pretty sure it's the same bid. BBC are about 10 years behind everybody else. It was Scott Burns in the record that said it was close to being done

Hibs and Motherwell away, vital goal against the huns so we don't lose that game. Then that early goal at Kilmarnock set the tone for the game. Not to mention the cup final.

It's strange seeing so many people talking him down, especially in favour of Miovski, who I like, but I'd take Idah over him 100%

 

And he was continuing to get better and better each game towards the end of the season imo. Would be exciting to get him in and see what he can do with a full preseason Continuing to gel with the squad and manager.

 

Plus you're getting a player who's shown WHAT he can do already, doesn't need bedded into the squad in terms of adjusting to how the team play/getting used to team mates etc, the manager wants and he himself wants to be here.

It's quite simple really, just need to get the deal over the line and bring the price down to a realistic demand.

Will await this signing early next week

 

Miovski is a decent pler to be fair, caused us a lot of problems, but I know who I want in our front line next season.
