Ignoring that we've wasted the last month it would seem, turns out we can make an actual bid today and have it rejected a mere few hours later.

Proving that it doesn't take endless weeks to get deals done, or to progress to a next stage

Had we offered what they wanted, they'd have accepted it today and the news could be tomorrow that the offer is on the table for Idah.

But in good old Celtic fashion, we've wasted a month and look cheap as * with getting a below value offer rejected.
Even though for the last 6-8 weeks we've known the value is more 7-9m and not 4-5m.

I'd say waiting a month after his loan is fannying about.

Clearly Rodgers rates him and wants him in.
What has the club been doing the last 4 weeks?
Have we seriously waited til Rodgers came back before we made a move for any players? Because this one would have been the most blatantly obvious one that Rodgers surely could have said "mind get the Idah deal done" as he slipped out the front door with his sunglasses on for his holiday. Club could have had this wrapped up by now.

lawwell offering a ridiculously low bid of £4m is justification for his sacked son not having tied Celtic to a right to buy of £6m. Anything we pay over the £6m will make lawwell junior look bad.

Does everyone just forget that the new Norwich manager said he wanted to have a look at him first? So what's to say we didnt enquire about Idah earlier on but told not interested yet.

Who knows if we even know what Norwich would accept for him?

We've offered £4m+ incentives (allegedly) as an opening bid. The dance has begun ffs, folk need to wring their knickers out...

Thorup made his intentions to give Idah an assessment in close quarters in pre-season clear at his opening press conference last month - and that remains the case ahead of his return.

“Yes, definitely with that guy,” he said. “He's an exciting player. And he's from here, and he's been in the club so many years and can do dangerous stuff up front. He's fast, he moves well, he gets into these areas in the box where you decide games. So, definitely, I will have a look at him, I think otherwise it will be stupid.”

Who's to say we hadn't already enquired? and possibly told to keep our * thumbed.

 

It's been known the value is more 7-9m for over a month though.

And if we believe (not saying not true) that the new manager wants to assess him, then why bother with a big one week back in to training? He's not assessed him yet then
Just makes the whole thing seem stupid if we trot out the idea he's a later in the window deal, but we've offered a fee today.

Well the manager still hasn’t seen him because Idah has been on holiday for a while now. So why bid now?

If Idah wants to leave then there’s not much the manager can do about it anyway.

 

Mate, the transfer window has been opened for two days. We've already offered the best part of £5m for Idah as an OPENING bid.

Think we all need to calm the * down

 

If Idah is still under contract and the manager has a say in whether or not he wants him to leave then there's certainly a lot the manager can do about it.

Same as it is if anyone wants one of our under contract players...

 

Clubs that are run well don't tend to keep players who want away. Last thing they want is a player downing tools and their value decreasing.

Anyway it's just poor from us again. We wait weeks to finally make an offer and it's immediately booted out. Surely to * we know what Norwich are after.
