Best I’ve seen Portugal was last 16 in the World Cup when they dropped him, looked like different team ,won the final in 2016 without him

I thought first half Portugal were excellent, just couldn't quite get the goal. Second half became laboured after Martinez took Vitinha off and changed the formation, also refused to sub the old guard.

Still, incredible from Costa, and this will do a lot for morale. QF vs France all set up to be an absolute stinker.

 

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Portuguese keeper at that level who isn’t consistently brilliant. Actually Portugal always seem to produce good keepers, I’d say it’s a safe transfer buying one that you’ll get your moneys worth

if anything costa saving from 2 other people too might make it easier. If he’d been the only one to miss and put them out I’d imagine that would have been hard to overcome after all that

 

Costa has been quietly incredible in Portugal for ages - everyone knew he was the next national keeper. *'s only 24! He'll go right to the top, no doubt.

They play a lot deeper than us..

We need centre halves who are dominant and have the pace to play a high line..

 

Yep! Thats what you get with some experience. They would fit right in as well as ( IMO ) Slovenia played very similar to what we do in europe.

Even if they play deeper which im not agreeing (the poster above) that they do, we will play as deep as them in europe.

 

I don't watch a lot of english football but if I've ever watched Man Utd, I've always thought Fernandes was over-rated. This tournament has confirmed my suspicions. He's fukin' awful.

 

The tournament started fast but it feels like it's really slowed down. A lot of tired looking players and very slow games. So far only Spain and Germany look good by their own standards.

And I can't shake the fear that it is all lined up for an England win
