I’m all for negotiating but Jesus Christ, it was €5m. How are we no accepting that and punting him out the door as quickly as possible.

The fact that we were going to make a profit on the sale of Oh right off the bat I thought outstanding done deal. Sounds like a deal will get done though.

A deal worth up to €5m, that could be €100k right now and €4.9m winning Balon d’Or mate. If it was €5m on the table, no strings, he’d be away already.

Perhaps we're not getting idah , and the club have changed their mind about oh . Id certainly be happy to keep him

Regardless of whether Idah signs or no, Oh's time is up here for me..

I actually quite like him but we need better, Idah was far more reliable when it really mattered..

Knowing how we operate I can see this being the case though. Behaving like there are only two striker options out there.

Rodgers clearly doesn’t rate Oh or he would have made match day squads in the second half of the season. As soon as Idah came in Oh was dumped.

I am not saying he is good enough. What I am saying is that holding on to him in case Celtic don’t sign Idah would be madness, given our manager doesn’t rate the player.

Hopefully Oh will be sold to Genk and it is just a case of working out the details of the deal. Oh clearly expected it to go through when he deleted all his Celtic content of his social media.

What I was saying is I wouldn’t put it past Celtic keeping a hold of Oh as we can’t get Idah and acting like there is only two striking options available to us.

As a club there is a tendency to behave like this just look at the Goalkeeper scenario we likely haven’t just gone out and identified a keeper and spent a bit of money on them because Barkas flopped and now appear to be looking for an end of career reserve keeper from an EPL team because Hart worked out.

It is scary how we appear to be run when it comes to recruitment, shy of buying from South America because we scouted a couple of poor players over a decade, so let’s not shop there. Or the opposite, signed a couple of good players from Japan so let’s try buy promising players from other Asian leagues because they command low fees.

Not investing in a new left back because we spent money on Bernabei and he was a flop.

I'm quietly confident that the Oh deal is agreed and will go through.

I think the hold up may be from Genks end. I'm pretty sure they were having some issues, financially. So, hopefully that means it was for a new season etc. Should see more movement in it this week, hopefully. It was a great deal to agree.

In a way, you have a point, but given that we have other, even more urgent position to fill, I wouldn't be shocked if Oh stays and Rodgers has to use him. I hope he can stomach the thought, given that he's not exactly pressuring the board to splash the cash. We all know how tight they like to be, and I'd guess they already told Brendan he has to pick carefully where his most expensive signing will fill in.

I'd be very surprised if he's still here by the end of the transfer window.

That Idah story from Scott Burns in the last hour suggested he was close to Genk for 4 million … here’s hoping.

Hope so. Likeable guy and I wanted him to succeed but it's the best move for all parties. Good luck to him.

for his size he wasnt/isnt as physically dominant as he should be ,i think most aspects of his game are ok ,he could have used his stature with a bit more aggression to create more opportunities for himself
