We will still have a mixture of these players coming in.

We shouldn't ignore this range of player the issue is we have been targeting the wrong ones in recent times. On paper, Dahbo and this guy would be good moves.

But need to be backed up with more experienced, immediate first pick types.

He's young, but with how he's playing at Copa America I think there's a chance he could come in and make a difference.

We obviously need to be going for more experienced players this summer, but guys like Miller, Dahbo and Rojas are ones we shouldn't miss out on either. I remember us missing out on Hincapie who was older than this guy when he left for Bayer, and he's went on to have a fantastic career.

Could this be on recommendation from cooper ? Did we not hire him as our scout for north, central and South America ?

Would like to think a few prospects might start coming through now from those regions

I remember listening to an interview with one of those Football Talent podcasts and Mark Cooper last year talking about talent in the lesser known South American markets including leagues in Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador, Chile etc and he seemed very well versed in all those leagues and people to keep an eye on.

Having brought him in you would think we would need to be looking to utilise that knowledge.

Celtic can expect to pay around £800,000 for Herediano starlet Andy Rojas, Football Scotland can reveal.

Interest in the young Costa Rican starlet emerged last night suggesting the Hoops were keeping a close eye on the versatile attacker who can play across the frontline and has broken into the Herediano first-team squad. He made history at the Copa America in becoming his country's youngest ever cap at the tournament and that brought more eyes onto the player

Celts are believed to be keen on the playmaker and sources in his homeland claim his worth to the club is close to around $1million which equates to just under £800k

The player has other interested parties across Europe while there are also teams in Mexico and MLS keeping a close eye on the teen who is highly-rated

It is believed that Brendan Rodgers' side could potentially even pay LESS than those clubs in the Americas with the player likely to push for a move to Europe

It's not the first player in recent times from the area to be linked with a move to Scottish football

Gerald Taylor joined Hearts from the country - also already boasting Kenneth Vargas - while the Americas also brought out interest from both Glasgow giants in Andres Montano.

Has to be a Mark Cooper recommendation. We need experience and proven quality, but this guy and Dahbo should be signed if we can get them.

yeah I hope , no point bringing someone like that on board to ignore any recommendations , hopefully beat teams like Brighton to a few gems as they have shown there are players from the lesser countries can come in and perform

    Happy for another mediocre project?

projects are holding us back, We need first team quality not more mediocre projects to bloat the squad, we have enough of them and will struggle to shift them on.

Womderkid playing at the cops America? That's the big bucks paying off for hiring Mark Cooper then.
Never would anyone have spotted this lad, eh.

Nothing in this signing suggests we won't be signing a little more experienced quality.

I've been vocal about projects but this guy would definitely be worth a pop. He scored double figures last season, is playing at the cops America and can still be club grown (although couldn't put on b list for 2 years).

You can't say no 18 year olds we have enough. You just have to be careful who you bring in.

Just reading a scouting report on Total Football Analysis on him, which can be found here. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/p...202324-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics

He sounds like an exciting player all be it I am not sure of the standard of his domestic league. He has performed well in the CONCAF Champions League including a goal against Mexican side Toluca.

According to the report he is a good finisher, has pace and skill when dribbling, puts a shift in defensively and presses well and has an eye for a forward pass. He also is versatile in that he tends to play off the left, as a striker or almost as an attacking midfielder at times.

He also doesn’t look 18, he has a good build for a player of that age, a little under 6ft but looks strong.

For £800k I would sign him. I wouldn’t expect him to start immediately perhaps we would need to loan him out for a season or keep him until January and loan him for the second half of the season.

We definitely need first team players in but we shouldn’t pass up the chance to sign talented youngsters if they are scouted properly and we have a clear plan for them.
