SEAD HAKSABANOVIC READY FOR MALMÖ FF

PUBLISHED JUNE 26, 2024 IN MEN , NEWS

Malmö FF welcomes Sead Haksabanovic to the association. The Montenegrin national team midfielder is bought from Celtic FC and has signed a four-year contract with MFF.

    PLAYER FACTS

    Date of birth: 1999-04-05
    Contract length: 4 years
Previous clubs: Halmstads BK, West Ham United, Malaga FC (loan), IFK Norrköping, Rubin Kazan, Djurgårdens IF (loan), Celtic FC, Stoke City FC (loan).
    Jersey number: 29

Sead Haksabanovic was born in Hyltebruk and made his debut aged 15 in the Allsvenskan for Halmstads BK. With that, he became the club's youngest debutant of all time. The following season, Haksabanovic had his definitive breakthrough in the Superettan when, as a 16-year-old, he accounted for 15 points in 30 games and was a contributing factor to Halmstad's return to the Allsvenskan.

After the successful season, he was called up to the national team for Montenegro and made his debut against Armenia in the World Cup qualifiers in 2017. In total, he is listed for 33 international matches and one goal in the national team shirt.

It was only half an Allsvenskan season with HBK before Premier League club West Ham signed Haksabanovic. He made his debut for the London club in the 3–0 win against Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup. The following year, Haksabanovic returned home to Sweden and IFK Norrköping where he quickly became a crowd favorite and in total there were 65 matches and 13 goals. In the summer of 2021, he was bought by Rubin Kazan in the Russian Premier League.

In addition to playing in Norrköping, he also has a successful loan spell in Djurgårdens IF behind him, before he signed for Celtic FC in the summer of 2022. In Scotland he made 40 appearances in his debut season and helped win the domestic treble. He was also noted for playing time in all six group stage matches in the Champions League, two of which started.

Sead Haksabanovic will wear shirt number 29 and is ready to play for the home game against Halmstads BK on July 7.

We warmly welcome Sead to Malmö FF!

    DANIEL ANDERSSON, SPORTS DIRECTOR
    - Sead is a very good player who can play in many offensive positions. He's been a bit brave lately and is now very keen to play for us and show what he can do. Despite his relatively young age, he has international experience playing at the highest level from many different countries and leagues.

    - He has top quality to decide matches, at the same time he is a player who works hard for the team. We think Sead will fit well into the team building

    SEAD HAKSABANOVIC
    - Of course it's fun to come here and sign for a club like Malmö FF, for me Malmö is the biggest in Sweden and the Nordics. We have had a good dialogue and when MFF drew up their plans they have for me, it clicked immediately between us. I feel this is where I want to be and I'm looking forward to getting out in front of the fans and showing my football.

    - In terms of football, I am a hard-working player who also has the qualities to decide a match on my own. I have watched a lot of Malmö FF and it will be exciting to be part of this squad. I think the way the team plays will suit me very well.

    - After the years abroad, I have learned a lot off the field. How to be a good ambassador and a good leader. Even though I am quite young, I still feel that I have a great responsibility because I have been around the world and learned quite a lot. When it comes to playing on the pitch, I've come to realize that nothing comes for free. No matter how good a soccer player you are, if you don't work or push the team, you won't get anywhere. It's about taking help from teammates and teammates who are there to make me better.

Can’t even be raging at him.

We’ve all clashed with bosses or higher ups. He’s been respectful to the club, fans and players. Can’t ask for much more.

Didn't dislike him, thought he looked decent when he first arrived but didn't really feature much and didn't work out. Hopefully frees up some money for incomings, and all the best to him.

Seems like we got our money back for him, around £1.7m.

Palma is Haksabanovic with end product.

Haksa flattered to deceive and with his * attitude was never lasting under Rodgers.

Disliked him from the very first moment tbh because of the crown tattoo on his neck. Not my body obviously. It's just that I despise loyalism and all symbols that come with it. Didn't like his game either. He's fairly talented, but his impact left a lot to be desired. Seems like BR prefers Palma and Kuhn. Good luck to him.

Hating someone for having a tattoo is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen posted on this site

    Absolutely mental stuff

    * him, good riddance. For a guy trying to make his way in the football world, taking to social media like he did, having achieved * all, showed his character. He did seem to have natural ability but suspect no substance to him.
Frees up a wage, deadbeat off the books and a wee top up to our kitty.

Can say all the nice things he wants, never once burst a gut for the club when wearing the shirt.

Another yin that can * off to the ex players section, at least some more fat trimmed...

    Adios, tadger!
