Pepe * of a man, but what a defender, absolute strolled it tonight.

 

Soon as I saw the name I googled, saw that.

 

Cancelo? Gies peace ffs, Pep has papped him, lol.

Into the bargain he was subbed too.....coz he was *.

 

Just seen the highlights from the Turkey - Georgia game, Turkeys first 2 goals were absolute screamers man.

 

Cancelo is the most technically gifted in Portuguese squad IMO. He is a bit rebellious, even as a kid youth coaches from Benfica described him as the most challenging kid. I believe Pep failed to manage that side of him. Cancelo did not have an easy life either. His father worked abroad and he had a really tight relationship with his mother growing up. Unfortunately Cancelo was in the car when, after a game, his mother lost control of the car and died before getting to the hospital. Cancelo was 18y old and survived the car crash. His 10y old brother was also in the car. He often tells that it was the moment that defined his life - he had to set the example for his little brother and succeed.

In a way I think that Cancelo is one of the few top players of the current game that is not a system player and solves problems on talent alone.

Two hour ferry from the mainland plus another wee ferry crossing and a good 20 min drive to the only sort of settlement.

 

Croatia are nowhere near the team they were a few years ago.

 

Any * the English pundits don't want to win (or don't know how to pronounce their names) have my sincere support

 

We have comfortably been the worst side in the tournament so far. Hopefully changes tonight.

 

If the score stays like this, Croatia v Italy game might be a cracker
