Foden was getting stick off Shearer in commentary as well. The English 'Pirlo' was very quiet in that second half.

Paul, would you say Kane is a better striker than Rooney was? Many English fans say Rooney is the best English striker ever and it would be hard to argue against that really. He had so much more to his game than Harry Kane has.

IMO the standard of football is higher nowadays due to tactics but the standard of player is arguably worse. 10-20 years ago you’d reserve calling only a select few as elite world class and that would be guys like Ronaldinho, CR7, R9, Messi & Henry etc. Imo Kane is nowhere near that catagory.

Whats with the American VAR girl? She an ex player or something?

Feel as if we gonna pause during a game to show us the Boston Red Sox score and tell us how to cook Buffalo Wings

As a pure goalscorer yes, as an overall footballer no. However that gap isn’t as big as it has been as he’s evolved his overall game over last few seasons. The stats are impossible to argue against.

I’m no lover of the guy either btw just giving my unbiased opinion on him and find it hilarious folk attempt to argue that he isn’t world class.

    Belgium have been awful.
    EDIT - and they score
EDIT edit tiny handball in the build up rules it out. Nonsense.

Lobotka for Slovakia is so so good. Always admired him for Napoli. Not the biggest but he dominates / controls the middle of the pitch. The exact type of player who would take us up a level especially in Europe.

I thought handballs were only reviewed when the goal scorer handballed the ball? They weren't to go back and look at handballs in the build up?

That’s shocking for Belgium, his hand doesn’t even affect where the ball went. Absolutely shocking.

Just checked. The handball has to be accidental in the build up.

They must be ruling that an intentional handball.

48th in the world beats 3rd in the world but apparently we should just accept being wanked on by 16th in the world.

I didn't know they checked for intensity of handball contact with sensors now. TBH, Vavro tussled with the player, and disrupted his stance, but the Belgian player did move his hand towards the ball, not away from it.

As someone who rooted for Slovakia, I wasn't too happy with them acting like they've been butchered after a foul, only to get up just fine. It happened 3-4 times. But I don't like Belgium. Abuse of colonial history to get lightning quick or ox-strong players that DR Congo or some other African countries now don't have. Also saw Riyadh something on a shirt of a Belgian fan, so, * them.
