Celtic signed Hayes, I'm not convinced BR wanted him, I suspect that was another player that was dropped on him whether he wanted it or not.

He did. He was signed up early in pre season

He likes domestic players and had a history of signing them in his first spell. Particularly from Dundee

Hope we loan both of them out this season. Can’t see them getting game time.

Maybe, I still think Desmond wanted him more than Rodgers did. Regardless we should be looking at a higher quality than McCowan, unless they are young projects with lots of potential.

The few times I've noticed this boy I've been impressed with his tenacity more than anything. Could be a handy player to have around for sure.

Don't think it necessarily means this is the level of quality Rodgers is after, or he'll not be targeting anyone of a higher level. Just that he likes him and thinks he can use him well.

All for it if indeed we're still looking to bring in better.

Wouldn’t say no to this one tbh. Greenock lad the Huns were all talking about getting him after he absolutely demolished them The fact he went to notre dame high might put them off

He had played under Rodgers at youth level at Reading and at the time he was arguably the best player in the league outwith us

He’s an excellent player at our league level but he isn’t good enough for Celtic.

He's probably better than some of the * projects we signed recently though

No arguments there but if we sell MOR and bring in Luke McCowan you can kiss competing at the top level goodbye. Thats regression in its purest form.

Me, in a hypothetical situation to prove how poor a signing he’d be in a window we’re losing MOR in his same position.

We have signed some * dross recently with the scatter gun approach.

Imagine if this lad comes in and is a cracking player like when we signed Barry Robson and Paul Hartley.

And he will be 3/4 years younger than what we signed them.

Look at what they done for us when they signed. We are far too quick to write off people off.

Based on his performances last season, he would probably walk in to any starting XI in the league outside of ours. He’s the sort of guy Aberdeen should be all over, and would probably be a decent option for the Huns too in all honesty.

With all that said, we need to be aiming higher for our starting XI and for squad options I’d rather we actually try to give guys like Lawal and some of the prospects in the B-team a chance. We’ve been linked with, and signed, far worse players but it just feels a bit uninspiring.

Maybe if we had a complete clear out in the midfield and he was brought in on a free/nominal fee as steady-hand for domestic games I would be a bit more accepting, but even then…

He’s a decent enough player and I saw it claimed on KDS that he supports us, so good luck to him.

What happened to the Liverpool LB on loan to Dundee we were interested in? Did he get a bad injury?

Some of us also have * PTSD with Celtic signings, especially those "handpicked" by Rodgers.

No offence intended mate, but did you see Jack Hendry tonight?

I don't mean to be an * but all of the names we're linked with, ESPECIALLY this one, are one of the main reasons objectors like myself didn't want a Rodgers return.

    This is a farcical signing.

And tbh, if Sky and Joseph are running with it, it would tend to lean in the direction of being accurate.

If we're also being honest, the standard of the Scottish game when players like Hartley and Robson were playing was actually much higher, imo at least. Luke McCowan couldn't lace their boots. And even then, Robson and Hartley were considered cheap options.
