    Where are we seeing £4.5m?

    That's unreal money for him.

I would have thought £4.5mill is only something we'd get after he performs well at the club we've loaned him to.

As much I've defended him and want him to succeed here, if there is any truth that offer... then sell it is.

Would imagine we would sell for 2.5m with maybe a 20% sell on , Belgian leagues can sell players for big money if they do well especially the bigger teams. I liked oh and still think there’s a player there but needs to play week in week out

I'd honestly take anything for him. If the club want to loan him and see if he does well and come back next season fighting for his place that's fine but we need someone who is a quality back up. He isn't at the quality required right now.

Who seriously thinks we’re getting £4.5m for him?

Lucky to get half of that.

I think the only way we get more than 2m is if we send him out with a buy option, you wouldn't pay 4.5m for a Celtic flop unless you knew they'd play well for you.

Someone offers any money then let him go, we need to trim down the fringe players we have in the squad.

£4.5m is brilliant business. I think he'll rip it up there, by the way. Just got a feeling.

KRC Genk makes a bid for South Korean striker Hyeon-gyu Oh from Celtic
After the arrival of Jarne Steuckers, KRC Genk wants to complete two additional transfer files as quickly as possible. In addition to defender Matte Smets (STVV), South Korean striker Hyeon-gyu Oh (23) from Celtic is at the top of the to-do list.

KRC Genk even made an initial bid for the South Korean centre-forward, who scored five times in twenty league games in his first season at Celtic and also made five appearances in the Champions League.

Out of the picture after New Year's
Hyeon-gyu Oh did not have his happiest season in Glasgow after joining from Suwon Bluewings last summer. A shin injury hampered his start, but five goals in six games at the end of 2023 seemed to launch him. Until Celtic signed extra striker Adam Idah on loan from Norwich in January. He scored seven times in ten matches, also fitted in better with coach Brendan Rodgers' plans in terms of playing style and thus ensured that Hyeon-gyu Oh completely disappeared from the picture.

That is why the South Korean international, who has already collected eleven A-caps, is keen on a transfer to Genk. The agile and physically strong attacker wants to revive his career. And sees potential in a collaboration with coach Thorsten Fink, the man who launched his compatriot/great role model Heung-min Son (now Tottenham) at HSV twelve years ago.

    Smets: three competitors
In the following days, KRC Genk will also try to complete the transfer of Matte Smets. Just like Anderlecht, which has to look for a replacement for Debast, Genk wants to loose the stylish defender from STVV for the contractually agreed buyout sum of 2.25 million euros. The most important foreign privateers on the coast come from the English Championship (Watford) and the French Ligue 1 (Reims)

Genk are trying to strike a £3.5million-plus deal to sign Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Record Sport broke the story this week that the Belgian side want to land the South Korean international. Celtic are in negotiations with Genk and look to make a profit on the £2.5m they paid Suwon Samsung Bluewings for the forward in January last year, along with future add-ons

The striker has fallen down the pecking order at Celtic Park and Genk want to give him the platform to relaunch his career. Oh is also keen on the move to work with Genk coach Thorstein Fink. Fink was a big influence on the early career of Tottenham star Son Heung-min in his early years at Hamburg. The 22-year-old has struggled to convince Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers that he should be among his top strikers. Kyogo Furuhashi remained the first pick and Celtic went out and took Adam Idah on-loan from Norwich City for the second half of the season.

Oh hardly featured in the second half of Celtic’s Double-winning campaign. His lack of club form also had an impact on his international prospects and he was dropped for the March fixtures

If we recoup our money then great.
Can't help but feel for him. Should have been loaned out last summer and given a full season of first team football.
Ah well. We move on. Good luck to you Oh.
