He played some good forward passes, that could have lead to goals.

Excellent today and you can quite clearly see his leadership qualities.

Also a good talker and invested in the club. Clearly dislikes them and enjoys noising them up.

    Well done young man

He was good today overall. If only he had that little burst to get past a man.

Thought he was fine today... But, as someone on another thread said, him.and Scales on the same side at the same time is a recipe for heart attacks and disasters...

I was working until 4 and maybe he had a blinder or something in the first half; but based on the second half, he just beats Hatate as our worst player on the day IMHO. At times, it was like watching a boy playing with and against men.

Please * let us sign a better left back in the summer. He's just a bog standard, average left back. We need more dynamism and power in that position.

Seems to me that most folk prefer to slate him for his deficiencies yet ignore the positives he brings. Definitely want to see an upgrade but gets far too much hate off the fans. Boy brings a lot to the table and will be a solid contributer for years to come.

Greg Taylor has revealed his dislike for Todd Cantwell’s Hampden remarks.

The Parkhead hero wasn’t impressed by his rival’s on-pitch comments and fired-up as his side delivered the perfect riposte through Adam Idah’s winner. Taylor’s team had the emphatic last word after the pair clashed in another feisty exchange. The Parkhead defender went in the book for decking Cantwell in the second period and had a say

Cantwell was subbed-off just moments later, but, as he left the park, appeared to launch his own tirade at the Celtic full-back. That outburst led to the Rangers midfielder landing his own yellow card from referee Nick Walsh. Taylor admits he enjoys a bit of spice in his game, but said: “I like playing on the edge, definitely. He said a few things that I didn’t like. It was a good battle in the game, but it was important to get the win. I don’t want it to be a headline or that, I just didn’t like a couple of the things he said. But that’s fine, we move on. We went on and did the business, so it’s important we focus on us and the success we’ve had in winning a cup. Adam was key to that.”

Controversial Cantwell’s talking didn’t stop after full-time and he was ushered away from confronting the officials after the whistle by his manager Philippe Clement. Taylor and Cantwell clashed at the end of the Old Firm Premiership game in April and the Rangers star had his recent social-media comments revived post-Hampden.

The Ibrox man posted a message about a Shushburger following his goal against Hearts at Tynecastle seven days prior to Hampden. When Taylor put an image of victorious Celtic team on his Instagram after the Final, team-mate Alistair Johnston posted a response which read: “Eating a burger tonight wee man?

Taylors been great for us. His work rate and desire to get involved in play really helps us going forward. He's not solid in defence, we can all see that, and if we want to improve in Europe, will at least need another LB. It's disappointing that many fans are so vehement in wanting him out rather than appreciate what he brings. He also 100% gets the club and clearly loves his time here, is a consummate professional and by all accounts one of the best trainers. So yes, we need another LB, but let's appreciate the one we all ready have.

Good to have in the side and he's more than contributed but I thought he was poor at the weekend. Bullied often.

The left side is a clear target point for opposition sides. He needs to be upgraded on.

Given he's away with Scotland take it there's no movement on his contract extension.

Pretty puzzling given he's only a year left and he's our only recognised player in that position.

Greg Taylor admits his Celtic future is up in the air after contract talks stalled.

The Hoops fullback is in the final year of his Parkhead deal but there’s yet to be an extension agreed. The 26-year-old has been the Bhoys’ first-choice left back for the past four years and played 46 games on the way to claiming last season’s Premiership and Scottish Cup Double. Boss Brendan Rodgers admitted at the end of term that he was hoping to nail down the Scotland man on a new long-term deal.

But Taylor revealed there’s been no progress yet and he’s still waiting to discover if he’ll remain at the club beyond next summer. When asked if a new deal at Celtic was in the pipeline, Taylor said: “No, nothing. We’ll see what happens. I honestly don’t know, I think I’ve got 10 months left. It’s football, it’s business. You understand that’s part of it. So I’m sure these things eventually work their selves out

Is it on my mind? Not at the forefront, I wouldn’t say so. But of course, you’ve got 10 months left in your contract, you know the situation you’re in. So we’ll just see what happens

Taylor arrived at the club as a £3million capture in 2019 and he’s picked up nine major honours and clocked up more than 170 appearances. The former Kilmarnock man admitted he’s relished his Celtic spell – and insisted his best years are still ahead of him.

Taylor said: “I’ve loved it. It’s been an amazing period of my career in terms of winning a lot of trophies, playing a lot of games, I’ve worked under some unbelievable managers, the current one included. I’m really grateful for what the experience has been. It’s one I’ll never take for granted

Have I peaked? I hope not, I’m 26. I’m at an age where I want to be playing regular football, I want to be playing every week, I want to be competing for the trophies. I hope there’s a lot of growth in me yet and a lot of enjoyable times in the years to come.”

Taylor is in the same boat as other Celtic stars with experienced wide man James Forrest also entering the final year of his contract and fevered speculation surrounding Matt O’Riley.

The defender insisted it will be business as usual for all of them despite the uncertainty. Taylor said: “It’s football isn’t it? There’s transfer speculation, there’s contracts, this is what happens in football

It’s part of your job that you need to, one side is that side of it and one side is the football side. I think most people in the modern game manage to just focus on that side when they’re out there with their training. Matt’s no different, he’s a brilliant talent and a brilliant player
