You'd be happy to spend £10m and £30k a week on Tienrey for 50% of the season?

    Another one that isn't happening.

    Too expensive on price
    Too expensive on wages
    Too injury prone.

Like I said in Edouard thread. Waste of time talking and debating about it.

A more mature player with more experience as you can see when playing for Scotland.
If we want to play with the big boys in the champions league then get him signed.
He’s made his money so I think he would be willing to drop his wages that would play into Celtic’s wage structure and the club has the funds to pay arsenal the reported £15m transfer costs.
Would bring a lot to the club.

It's a no for me. Yes, the wages and how often he's out injured for are major concerns. There's no point bringing him in to play the big matches in the CL when chances are those are the games he misses. But more importantly than all that I think it would be really bad for his playing career. In his last spell with us he was getting targeted week in week out by hatchet men and the refs let it go, I think it would be worse if he came back which could end up shortening his career significantly, and considering I'm not sure he'll be able to play much past 30 as it is now that's not good. I think staying at a club in Spain, as long as he skips playing Atletico at least, would be his best move if he wants to extend his playing career.

The ones that don't want him don't want a strong celtic. There's not a better left back we could get. He's already one of the best in not just europe but the world. Maybe he'll be like forrest and get over his injuries. Many players do. Look at robben when he went to Bayern. Went from permanent injured to unbreakable. Only a fool would say no.

I wouldn't say the ones who don't want him don't want a strong Celtic that's just stupid every fan wants their team to be as strong as possible, his injury record is a concern and as much as I'd want a fit Tierney I'd equally wouldn't want player for 10/15 games a season regardless who how good a player he is , we laugh at the Huns buying injury prone players why then copy that

A loan for a season to see if he’s got over any injury problems would be fine before deciding if we wish to buy him back. We have the money to risk, and he’d walk in to our team as comfortably the best player in Scotland and provide a massive upgrade in defence and attack, along with leadership and experience.

Whether Arsenal agree to that or not is a different story

He will be avalible on the "cheap" because not 1 team will pay big money for him, except Saudi clubs, and Arsenal wont loan him out as it is their last chance of banking on him.

The problem is the wages if anything. We would probably be his safest bet to get back to regular game time. I agree it is a nig risk though.

I want him but he can't play 40 games a season. Maybe not even 30.

It's a massive risk in a position we badly need upgraded.

You'd just be waiting for an injury to occur really and then back to square one with Taylor after paying upwards of £10m on a player.

I'd rather that tbh. We spent millions to upgrade taylor and ended up with bernabai.

But it defeats the purpose surely of upgrading the position.

You'd need a third left back to cover for when Tierney is injured and out.

I would prefer a loan to see if he can get a consistent run of games together. Either that or he'd need to be managed very well, something we failed at last time.

Why? Taylor is actually a very good left back. Tierney just happens to be the best left back. I'd be happy with scales sitting in left back if it went down to both were injured. We could blow £25m on a left back like arsenal and end up injured constantly. Just the luck of the draw and with Tierney I'd risk it.

If we need a 3rd left back? So be it. Better than being tin pot.

Can you please quote the post in which I said I would rather have Bernabei instead of Tierney?

Well apparently you trust the scouts to do better.

Hes been available for 60% of his games according to transfermarket. Not great but I'd take it.

You don’t sign a player, who only available for just over half the season for mega money and mega wages, because your scouts have failed previously.

That’s a wider issue. They’re not mutually exclusive. I don’t think the scouts have been good enough. I also don’t think that we should sign Tierney on the current terms that have been rumoured.

Rodgers apparently tried last summer but couldn't make it happen.

Love Tierney but it's a move that seems extremely stupid to me. Not sure whether Taylor has renewed his contract so can see him going if it happens and we are back to square one in that position just weaker over the season.

We're not talking mega money. We're the one team he will drop down for. We're litterly loaded. A few high paying players added imo is fine. Lawell has you right where he wants you.
