LegiaWarszawa was (is?) interested in loaning Maik Nawrocki from @Celticfc. Director Jacek Zieliński has contacted the defender, but he does not want to change the club for now. However, if he had problems with playing regularly during the preparation period, the issue may come back

I've liked him when he's played but loaning him to Legia would be utterly pointless

I'd like to see him get another year but given we will sign at least one centre back and gave Welsh and Scales new contracts, I think he might go.

I understand why we wanted continuity at the end of the season with Scales and CCV but I feel more confident with Nawrocki on the ball than Scales or Welsh.

If it’s a loan, then do a loan to buy, and they need to buy him at the end of it as well.

That's an obligation to buy deal.

Is loan to buy and obligation not the same thing?

Loan with an agreed fee, you know what the club needs to accept from you from the start if he’s a success. But can be negotiated, like Bernardo.

Wouldn't loan him out, specially not back to them - not anything against the club itself, just that its where he came from. Would signal it didnt work out here and they would look for a cut price next summer.

They want him back, happy to accept what we paid for him. No one losses out really.

But at the same time, I think there is more to him. he can be a Jozo, Sviat level player I feel for us. a good partner to CCV, at worst the 3rd rotational choice with Scales and Welsh behind him.
Get shot of Kobi and Lager, bring in one other to partner CCV and Nawrocki for next season.

Clear as day that the manager doesn't rate/trust him enough. If we can get our money back (or most off) then maybe a sale makes sense.

Loan with obligation to buy you have agreed fee upfront and you cant wriggle out of it and is done for a variety of financial reasons - skint or forward planning by some clubs. This is Cortes for el Hun.

Loan to buy you have an agreed fee but you can send back without having to sign - Bernardo.

Obligation to buy is a done deal really, you're basically just kicking the start of their contract and payment of the fees into the next window, what we had for Maeda and Iwata, we had no option to just leave it or negotiate anything different at the end of it, it's really a loan in name only. Loan to buy like Jota/Bernardo is basically try before you buy, we've got some sort of deal in place giving us first crack at them at the end of the loan period, but if they turned out * we can just send them home and not activate anything.

There is a player in him. He's younger than Welsh.

I think he needs to be loaned to play regularly. In Scotland or Germany. With a view to be a starter for us in the 25/26 season.

Don't see what the problem is with this guy.

He hasn't set the world on fire but he's looked far from * when he featured.

    Inexplicable really

Exactly! Not set any heather on fire, or * anything... I'd be happy to give him a clean slate for another season and see how it works out... :39:

Agreed. I think he may have a bit more to offer yet, tbh.

    * luck with injuries and it's hard to break a partnership....especially when the league is tight.
Stepped in when needed and didn't put a foot wrong really.

Be up to him if he wants to stay and fight for a place coz tbh I don't think scales is up to the task.

Scales is obviously better. Otherwise Nawrocki would have played more.

Injury prone, late in the tackle and doesn't carry the ball at all. 3 reasons why he's worse than Scales. Red card walking in Europe too, is the fourth strike.

Sell early and recoup what we can is my take.

I agree with this. Has all the attributes. Big, strong, good in the air, aggressive, quick and likes to carry the ball. But, and it's a big one. He goes to the ground too quickly, positional isn't great and often lunges in a tackle. He should improve, being a young CB, but needs loaned out or sold on.
