Hes * brilliant. Luckily he randomly shanks an easy cross otherwise he'd have been sold ages ago. Hope he stays until he can't run anymore.

Absolutely * that, he has zero defensive positional awareness, he isn’t particularly good at tackling either. What he does is constantly close down players, and when that press is passed by, he runs back tracking the guy who thinks they passed to him to beat the press to win the ball.

Agathe learned positioning and had the pace, and same delivery as Maeda, but he could slide tackle like Maldini from day dot.

    Maeda doesn’t suit it

Saying that, Alan Thompson was LWB for years for us and that worked. Until Lovenkrands stood behind him. Wanks.

It's a position I've never played before, so it's a new experience for me," said Daizen Maeda, who is keen to play left wingback. If he can find the optimal balance between offense and defense and add some decisiveness to the mix, he'll be unstoppable

If this explosively fast sprinter can break through the left side one after another with his dribbling and also score goals, he will have a strong advantage in the competition with Nakamura. In addition, it would not be a dream to overtake Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton) and become the first choice.

In fact, as can be seen from the match against Iran in the Asian Cup last winter, Maeda has a presence that far surpasses the two mentioned above in terms of defensive strength and hard work. It is still a difficult problem to find a balance between his high defensive awareness and dedication and his offensive drive. We hope to find the optimal solution in the match against Syria. If he can add the result of a goal and decisiveness to that, it will be a real win-win. He

has spent the past two seasons at Celtic honing his left-handed moves

This season, the manager changed (from Ange Postecoglou to Brendan Rodgers) and the style of football changed, so it was difficult at first, but even in that, my role didn't change much and I was able to play well. I would like to show the results of that in the last game of the season (against Syria) and end the season on a good note,"

Maeda said emphatically. If he can score and win the Syria match with his own efforts, he will be able to gain momentum for the final qualifying round, which will be at a higher level. This is the first time for him to play both the final qualifying round and a full club match. That is why it is important for him to have "confidence as a wingback" here.

In the Syria match, pay attention to every move of the speedster who has transformed into silver hair. We hope to see him perform a job that will amaze the audience

He had a great end to the season, coming from someone who hasn't always been a huge fan.

We badly need another couple wingers though. Haven't gotten close to replacing what Jota offered and tbh even Abada in terms of goals and assists.

I’m on the same boat wasn’t initially sold on him but his work ethic and physicality and have actually made him one of our most important players in certain games.

In Rodgers’ team he’s more effective than Hatate and Kyogo imo.

We’ve barely seen Hatate for Rodgers. Fully fit Hatate under Rodgers, he’ll be PotY next year no doubt in my mind.

Kyogo though, worries me, we can only get him playing at Parkhead under BR. For 3/4’s the season it was style of play, for the last quarter of it, it was in his mind and a bit of the way we play away.

But he hasn’t changed the what he does the wee man, I sat and watched him before Christmas at a game live make run after run, and the pass never coming. In 10 minutes he must have made about 25 runs, in space, and we were passing it around the halfway line.

Us against Hearts and his double, when we had freedom to play and hit the early ball, and he was superb, we need to bring that into next year.

We need to bring it away from home though. When we don’t we’re pathetically predictable.

Said this in here already apparently but * me, he isn’t good defensively as an actual defender. He harries and harrasses and tracks back like *. He isn’t good at tackling or positioning defensively

Not sure Hatate will be here next season i think Rodgers will want to move him on
