If it was £8m then it’s a no brainer really. Which is exactly why I think it’s a lot of *.

Where does the poor attitude stuff stem from?

He scored 75 goals in about 140 games or something for us. 20 +in fhe covid season.

I could name few players in that season who seemed like they had a supposed poor attitude.

I think a lot of it stems from the fact he didn't smile all the time or pick up rubbish like Kyogo...he's typically French in his demeanour. Don't see the issue. If he's a player with poor attitude then christ I want some more. Players have different personalities, some moodier than others. They're human.

His form tailed off ever so slightly but cmon lads. He was a fantastic player for us and served us well. And the Huns fear him for a reason.

He was obviously brilliant here but I just wouldn't fancy him back. If he came back the exact player he was at that exact point in his life, obviously. But players returning rarely turns out well, and after playing in the EPL on megabucks I'm just not convinced he'd be motivated up here again.

Big risk with the money and wages involved, I'd rather we go for someone fresh and hungry with everything to prove at Celtic.

He was one miss-hit at Ibrox away from leaving a total hero.

Genuinely believe the fact he mistimed that Kyogo square ball has changed people’s full verdict on him. A horror of a miss in truth, but not something he meant to do.

If that goes in, he’s mocking the Rangers support in his final game and getting lavished with love and adulation.

He terrorised them consistently. Even in his bad games against them he would still create some good openings.

All for him coming back if he’s up for it. Adds special star quality to the team we don’t currently have

Not sure why an experienced and successful manager like Rodgers would change his tactics to suite one player. Winning the double and our first champions league win in a decade shows that he was right not to do so.

For me, Kyogo needs to adapt to Rodgers style or we get a striker in who can.

Because Rodgers left in 2018, probably.

    This.

No manager would ever be asked or expected to do this. Except him.

I think Rodgers probably should have tried to play to his strengths when we had no other options apart from Oh. Now I think a new striker needs to come in and be the man.

Kyogo is still useful to an extent in Rodgers' style, just not as much as Ange's, although I think a lot of that is due to the lack of Jota. Maeda is currently the only winger for me that really plays to Kyogo's strengths.

He's no coming back here anyway. We're not paying those kinds of wages. If he doesn't stay in England he'll go back to France I reckon.

Do people actually mention this at all? Think the narrative that Edouard wasn't trying started well before then.

People also forget he appeared to take a fair bit to recover after having covid.

Personally, I think he struggled, like a few of the foreign players, with Lennon being the manager as the culture and communication was alien to them.

Nope they don’t mention it but I think it sways people’s minds massively.

He buries that and he doesn’t get anywhere near the negativity he does from the support.

Not many wanted Idah until Kilmarnock away by the way. Look at what people were saying about him after the home win against the Huns.

A good example of how moments can hugely sway opinion. I think, personally, if he scored at Ibrox in his final game, the opinion on Edouard would be hugely different.

Some will say that’s a wild take. Fine. Been on this forum long enough to know it’s the truth though

Aye Idah did go up and down in people's opinions. Expectations were very low to begin with. I think that's actually quite natural over such a short loan period.

With Idah up until the Kilmarnock game he hadn't shown that potential to go up a level, he'd just been better than expected up until then. So I'd say that's a fair take by most people.

Edouard situation for me is completely different. If people are judging him on his final game that's madness. I don't actually see people doing that but understand why you mention it.

I think it is realistic for a couple of reasons. The EPL have branded him a "failure" in that league already, which is one thing that works in our favour. The price is one we can afford, and he still has high resell value.

He knows he would be loved, he knows playing for us can give him a move to a "bigger league" if he performs. Makes alot of sense imo.

Problem is though that we wont have Kyogo or him sitting warming the bench. Both are to good for that and neither will accept it.

He got 7 goals in the league for Palace last season which isn't horrendous at that level considering they had a walking corpse as manager for most of it.

People will look at his record and say he's failed but when was the last time someone at that sort of club got double figures consistently.

Same issue as when Hooper went to Norwich. Was written on the wall.
