    Aye hindsight is great.

But my preference is always with an option. This ones turned out well in the end but we could very well be priced out of a permanent move which would be a shame. Luckily it would have been worth it even in a short term.

There's nothing to say WE weren't the reason there's no loan to buy option. If the loan was available, with an option at say £9M (a made-up number, don't quote it!) to buy we'd have probably rejected it ourselves, and just gone with the loan, before the window closed. No way to know what went down in the negotiation, or how far apart the sides were

But, I agree, I'd MUCH rather we had ANY number lodged in, to give us an option. Even if it wasn't great

If Idah wants the move enough it will happen. Norwich and their new manager won't want to keep an unhappy player. We have first hand experience of that ourselves. Abada being the most recent example.

There's literally no downside to agreeing an option to buy price, even if it's an astronomical/unrealistic one. You can still choose against taking it up.

I suspect we probably left it too late to do the negotiations on a price and that's why it was left out - which is a big shame as his 5 months at us has definitely added a few extra million £ onto the price probably.

    Agree with this.

There were rumours that he was moving to Hellas Verona with an option of around £3.5m before we came to the table. It shows how important an agreed price is.

I dunno, mate. Just purely in terms of negotiating from a position of strength, I don't think agreeing a £9 million option 6 months earlier really strengthens our hand.

Hopefully he puts in a transfer request and it moves things along.

The big man is flying - we are not getting him for anything around 6 million. The price will be closer to 10 million. We needed to have a buy on fee in the loan contract when he came to us.

His lack of awareness is showing a few times.

I think he took the goal well but the defending was hoffific.

You say that mate but they’re unbeaten in 14!

Their last tournament they were excellent in the ‘Group of Death’ as well.

Why though? If we don't value him at that then don't take up the option and offer the amount we value him at.

There's literally only an upside for the loaning side to agree a fee. If they're a success then you have an option a potentially below market value, if they're a failure then you don't take it up.

Because why would they believe you?

You implicitly accepted a valuation of £9 million before in the loan contract; the consensus is that he's been a success in Glasgow; and your manager has publicly stated that he wanted them. We don't see any reason to believe that you now only value him at £6 million and I think we're going to have to insist on 9 there, buddy.

If you don't value him at the agreed price then you walk away from the deal. Market economics innit.

Aye, not underestimating them at all, a team I wanted us to avoid. Just looked bizarre how easily he found space, perhaps doing the big man a disservice!

Here's to them being equally accommodating at the euros and Adam firing home plenty headers like that in the hoops next season.
