Adam Idah

Bid the 6 or 7 million for him, if they reject it move on. I want to sign him but we can’t afford to pull a classic Celtic and wait until the end of the window to try land our first choice target. If they want to wait unfortunately we will have to be proactive and move on. Hopefully we’ve others lined up but I would prefer idah as he has all the physical attributes, great attitude and shown that he can score goals for us in big games

 

Honestly this is how I think it went down.

- We had an eye on SVH but decided we didn’t want to go for him

- Rodgers identified Idah as a possible target. Celtic enquired about his availability.

- Norwich said no way José we have no time for a replacement. Idah was very keen on the move after hearing of our interest. Norwich wanted to keep him around but Idah was very keen to try Glasgow for 6 months.

- Celtic said hey, there’s this guy that’s available, SVH. We know for sure he’s keen on a move.

- Norwich said sure why not, he seems decent and we just need someone as a backup option. On you go Idah.


From the way things played out this is the way I saw it. A lot of people tried to make out that Norwich ‘beat us to SVH’s signature’ and so we just settled for the Norwich reject. I don’t believe that for a second.

 

We never wanted SVH. Apparently his agent kept approaching us about him but we never showed an interest

 

6 million tops or walk away.
I like him but we can find better.

 

Not having an option to buy at an agreed price has backfired on us.

Idah's stock has risen and we will either have to pay more than his value was previously, or their new manager might also give him a chance.

 

My thinking about it was if they got promoted they would be happy to let him go but staying in championship he would be useful especially if he got regular fame time here

 

Norwich can play hard ball all they want, they didn't rate him before and I doubt they do now. I can't imagine anyone else willing to pay around £6m for him so they can take it or * off.

If not confirmed early in the window, we should move on.

Window not even open yet (I know we sort deals before then) so no need to stress, yet..

 

New manager coming into Norwich so usually a new manager gives most of the squad a clean slate and will probably offer him a new start and we really can't afford to wait months to see what happens so make the bid with 7 million tops if rejected we move on .

 

Can’t keep leaving ourselves short trying to get our main target and possibly ending up with 0. Like I said I’d love idah in the door but if bids aren’t accepted, take the decision on and move on to our next target. We’ve a lot of work to do this window to push on

 

I hope the board are not spending the summer wondering if they will sign Adam Idah. Ask what Norwich want and anything above £6m then it’s a no and move on. Personally I think Miovski is a better option.

 

Sign him in January then when Norwich have punted him to the reserves lol

Who can we get that's better for 6m mate? We know he can do the business for us, has handled playing for us brilliantly.

I definitely agree with folk saying that we shouldn't be haggling and going back and forth, but if it's 6-7m I'd offer it and if it's a no go, then move on.

 

Think their new manager will want to have a look at him. His goals played a huge part in getting us over the line. That will have got him noticed. Hopefully he wants to come and tells his current club he wants away.

 

I think this might drag on with Norwich having a new manager coming in, so I'm quite level headed and cool with that but also gonna be in this thread and checking socials and getting anxious constantly until it's resolved one way or the other!

 

I was level headed and cool all last summer until the final two weeks of the transfer window. Then reality hit that this shower running us had done it again.
