So because CCV cost 6m, any player not as good as that isn't worth that money? He was just a bargain. No way is he a £3m player. 3m does not buy you a player scoring every 76 minutes in the league and if it did that would be an exception not the rule.

Hope it gets resolved fairly quickly, when the window opens.. one way or the other.

Tbf those 2 examples don't gauge the market really. Would have happily paid more for both

Norwich City are ready to play hardball with Celtic as the Canaries look to keep hold of Adam Idah.

The Irishman, 23, hit nine goals and provided two assists for the Hoops this season as he rounded off his loan from Carrow Road with a famous Scottish Cup Final-winning goal against Rangers. That's prompted a number of pundits and former stars to suggest the club must look to sign him permanently.

A fee of around £6million has been floated as a potential price tag the player would likely go for but Football Scotland understands Norwich are not yet entertaining a permanent sale at this moment

The EFL Championship outfit just sacked manager David Wagner from his position following their failure to get out of the second tier and back into the Premier League via the playoffs. Their season ended with a hammering at Leeds United who would be promoted

Football Scotland understands their plans, now, for Idah is to have him back for pre-season after he gained strong experience at Parkhead with his goals tally and the minutes he earned on the pitch as well as his involvement in helping them win the Premiership title.

Idah - contracted until 2028 - will be given the chance to impress among the first-team set up once again at Norwich and given a fresh start under their newly-appointed boss Johannes Hoff.

There was no clause inserted into the deal between Celtic and Norwich for a purchase option for the Hoops which leaves them with little to bargain with until NCFC make their call

However, Double-winning boss Brendan Rodgers has laid his cards on the table by admitting he'd love to welcome the frontman back next season. He said: "Hopefully we can do something. He has a long-term contract at Norwich but he is definitely one I would love to bring back here. At 23 with the potential and quality he has I think he can really push on in his career

This one will run all summer unless we just walkaway. Also Idah doesn't strike me as the type to throw a strop

I despise loans with no buy option.

Not sure but I think it was Norwich that didn't want us to have the option

His loan was a success ultimately, but in the future I'd walk away from that type of deal.

In fairness it was one of the most unique loan signings of all time, from start to finish.

I'd be pleased if we got him but would hardly be gutted if we missed out. Do I think we could get better for £6m? Aye. He's done very well but it's not like a Jota or CCV situation where we all knew £6m would be an absolute steal for them.

If we get him, great. If not, we move on. No stress.

It happened within a day of the Window closing, 2 tops. They loaned the striker we wanted from Italy (who just so happened to be the son of our ex striker) which opened the door for him to potentially leave because he wasn’t transfer listed or being offered about, just so happens Rodgers was aware of him from when he first burst through in the EPL plus the fact he was Irish and a ‘Celtic fan’.

The lack of an option was more timing constraints than design. We’ve had an option on just about every loan we’ve had from Eddy onwards.

I was under the impression we passed on the chance to sign SVH?

He himself said there were no conversations in the Winter window but we pursued him last summer. Either way bullet dodged because he’s * :56:

Can't see them agreeing to £6m and don't think we'd pay more than that.

Jota and CCV were too expensive. Under £1m got you Larsson. Jota and CCV are worth £300k based on Larsson's fee.

Why are we acting like we're spending our own money?

We demand to spend the cash we have but when we find out the price of a player, we turn into Peter Lawwell and grimace.

If it's £7m, so be it. He was an integral part in us winning over £40m.

This should be fairly simple for our board. Either we have a better alternative lined up and ready to complete or make Idah a permanent signing. If we don't have better then what is the fuckaboutery, just pay up and get it done

This one will bang on till start of next season, their new manager will want to see him pre-season and maybe give him a chance. So unless he pushes it then it’s not gonna happen quickly.
