Are you going to sit there and tell me there is no leftback under 6 million in the entire world that is not better than mark wilson (a right fullback)?

Believe whatever you want to believe.

Its not out of spite.. Its out of penny pinching. They think we can make do since the huns are weak and win the league so why try harder? All it does is hurt their bottom line if we would have won the league anyways.

Lets face it lads we are now the Inverness Caley of Europe’s elite, We are an embarrassment we spend pennies on players and have a wage structure that’s become laughable.

However we talk a good game, we are after Bent, Pavlychenko, Tamas, Bassa, etc.etc. We are promised significant signings, do me a favour we had no intention of bringing these guys in or players like them.

Our club have lied to us, they had no intention of improving the team this summer, I am disgusted at how we have been treated. In essence we have been lied to, you could even call it fraud. Get the faithful to part with their cash by promising significant signings, then deliver squad fillers, it‘s beyond a joke.

Our club talk us up as an ambitious club that is going places, I am sorry but at best we are standing still. Celtic are taking advantage of us, the great supporters that follow the club. They know we will always be faithful through and through. That knowledge gives Celtic the opportunity to get complacent, that is what we are seeing just now. A club that is comfortable too comfortable and that is a dangerous mindset to have.

Celtic are in a position just now were we should not need to look across the city. Unfortunately we have to, as accept it or not they have strengthened while we have stood still. This is totally unacceptable to me and I truly feel Celtic are taking me and all Celtic fans for granted.

Faithful through and through is the problem.

They know people like you will donate each season to the club immaterial of performance.

So you would keep supporting BT if your phone did not work ?

Don't think so. You would withhold payment. The board know you will not do that so can shaft you whenever and how often they want.

Hope you don't find this offensive but I am stunned with the " club can do no wrong 'cos we're Celtic" brigade. We are a poor side. We will do well to get into UEFA cup. .....Fact

    I didn't say we'd do well.

I said we would do well to get into UEFA cup ending 3rd in section.

I agree with your other points.

Overall I agree with your post Ellboy but I'm not 100% convinced we were lied to as such. I do think though that the board (and most of the fanbase) basked too much in the afterglow of both the Huns dropping out of Europe and also them selling Cuellar. To be honest I wouldn't be one bit surprised if the powers that be in CP didn't come up with the brainwave of buying small therefore allowing more money to sit in the bank generating interest. We are a PLC and as such are answerable to shareholders, so the primary interest for the board is to keep the money men happy. If that means playing politics with transfer fees then you can bet your mortgage that transfer fees will lose every time.

I posted at the time of the Kaunas defeat that I thought the Huns be going after the league in force this year and will stop at nothing to get it. I don't think I was wrong but what I didn't think was that Smith would get most (if not all) of the Cuellar money. I also posted that I thought that money would go to the bank, got that one wrong though. He might not have bought that well but he has strengthened and while the Huns are not some new force to be reckoned with, they are generally organised and as we seen from last season, they're hard to break down. I do think though they'll drop points and that any gap between us and them will not be that much, no matter who is leading.

I do agree wholheartedly with your last two paragraphs however. It's painful to say that we really should not be looking over at the other end of the city and drawing comparisons, especially after 3 successive league trophies and two last 16 places in the CL. If anything it should be the other way around!

What pains me most is the fact that we seem to have bought into a mindset of settling for players who are (in the main) mediocre. Yes we have some very good players but not enough to make any semblance of a run in the CL or UEFA cup (which I think we'll find ourselves in) and certainly not enough good players to sustain challenges for 4 trophies, no way!

If we manage to get through to january without too much trouble I'd hope we seen enough sense to strengthen. If not, I have a burning fear we could end up trophyless and subsequently, I think Strachan will be hounded out of CP!

This thread could very well be posted on FollowFollow, i'm ashamed and gutted tbh. A lot of people are acting like those idiots across the water. We get the point your upset we got beat, we're all hurting. Knee-jerking this badly does no good for anyone however and that's not just on an internet forum i mean in terms of complete apathy across the board.

    Bad craic :38:
