Unless I'm missing another obvious joke, RR genuinely thinks Burnley and Luton are a better team than us

Nah I seen that, but moravcik was responding to RR's post, not Cena's.

It's a mute point anyway, we'd pump both of them comfortably :67:

When you live down here in England all you get is how * the SPL is and how you have no chance of competing. Blah blah blah, especially from guys who support Brentford or Chelsea or Arsenal, all I say is they said we could never win the European Cup we not only won it we were first British team to win it, same with your EPL eventually we will rule you.

It would take us to £58m.

It's £49m base with ticket money. Tv Pool. Market share and participation fee.

Might sound crazy, but i used to be all money crazy and thinking when we got into CL that "* NOW WE WILL SPEND AND BURY THE COMPETITION" but it never ever happened. We have not spent more when we have been in the CL compared to EL and i could even argue that sometimes we have spent more when we have not got into the CL groups.

Obviously i love the CL anyway and the atmosphere around that tournament, but i would be very hyped to see us have a go at the EL as well as i think we could compete in it for real with some wind in our backs.

I think this version will feel a bit different same as before it’s imperative to win home games but we won’t be sweating if we lose our first two games unlike in a group of 4 normally be as good as out

am i right in thinking we will be playing 8 different opponents 4 of which will be home and 4 away rather than 4 opponents home&away ?

I didn't actually know this. Makes it much more exciting imo.

Over to you Celtic to get us in the players we desperately need to compete..

For me getting into the play off spot then going out will probably be deemed a success

They originally planned for 5 opponents and 10 games but the English put a stop to it ….

This is how much money we are due roughly...

    €18.62m for qualifying
    +
€11.5m Value Pillar European(Market Pool + 5 Year Ranking) (roughly)
    +
€3.5m Value Pillar Non-European(10 year ranking)
    +
    €280k if we finish bottom

So we are guarenteed €33.9million which is about £29million.

For every point we get in the group we will get €0.7million and then for every position we finish off the bottom we will get €280k more

So if we were to end up with 6 points and finished 30th in the table we'd get €5.6million/£4.4million more

This is the "Value Pillar" parts of the money you get also, it's the average of your 5 year ranking + your market pool position for the European and then your 10 year club ranking as the Non European.

Celtic are probably going to be about 25th in the European as we are 27th at least in the 5 year ranking and could move up a couple of places and we are I think at least 25th in the market pool as Scotlands Market Pool is usually about €6.9million and bigger than countries like Holland, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Portugal, Austria.

And we are about 26th in the Non European, above about 10 teams.

That turn of events was MASSIVE for us tonight when O’Riley goes, we’ll need to replace him with someone at least decent, we need to strengthen, and right now we’ve remained more or less the same as last year. Need new signings in the door, would be healthy for the squad competing for positions with new faces in and out the squad

I reckon Idah being a 10 million pound player almost will boost his confidence massively, he’ll go up a level this season, and I think he’s crucial for Europe as another option when we need the stronger taller target man to hold the ball up on the away days when we need to grind out results.
