For a CCV partner at CB we could do worse than look at Jesper Daland of Cercle Brugge. Although right footed he has played on the left of the centre back pairing for most of his career to date.

He is 24 so just reaching his peak years. Is around 6’2 with a strong build and has good acceleration when needing to chase back. Is very good in the air so would add there and is very comfortable on the ball, can play short passes off either foot and has a good longer range pass of his right. He is also comfortable stepping out from the back with the ball, in many ways he profiles similar to Ajer but maybe not quite as attacking but better in the air.

He has played 112 Belgian top flight games and a further 30 in Norway with Ajer’s old club Start. Hasn’t played for the senior Norway team yet but was an u21 international and over the last season has been in the Norway squads just not got on yet so a move to us and CL football might help him there.

Lastly he is entering his last year of his deal so a fee of something between £3-5m would likely be enough to get a deal done.

 

Andy robertson contract up in 2025, some Liverpool fans saying they want him replaced. The guy is a lifelong Celtic fan and has talked on numerous occasions how he’d love to play here. Get it done Brendan

 

I think they'd shift him and Šutalo, because they simply haven't been in great form.

 

If we don’t get McKenna then Liam Cooper is out of contract at Leeds, great experienced defender who does have his limits but could replace some of the leadership lost with Hart retiring.

wouldn’t be super expensive good experience in a decent league still young enough 6ft or 6ft 1 so adds height etc.

 

I wanted us to sign him from STVV in Belgium it was rumoured Juve were keeping an eye on him at the time. He certainly has the right characteristics to be a success here.

One left back I think we should be looking at is Yvan Dibango playing for Kryvbas in Ukraine. He is a 22 year old, 6ft athlete who is strong, very quick and has a good leap on him. He is solid defensively and offers a direct threat with his ball carrying and delivery in to the box.

He has also been called up for the most recent Cameroon national team squad so fits our scouting parameters well. Kryvbas actually just signed him in February this year for £500k but he has been on loan there for 2 seasons first from a team in Belarus.

Despite having just turned 22 in March he has over 100 professional games between Belarus and Ukrainian football with more than half of them being in the Ukrainian top flight. In his most recent season, he scored one goal and got 7 assists from 30 games.

I think his profile would be a good match to what our team needs at left back and he would likely be £3m or under.

Apparently Malmö are preparing a transfer fee as Roma want shot.

 

Always thought he looked class. He’d be the perfect right winger for us and would be ideal in European games. Big, powerful, pacey, good dribbler and can shoot. Surely he’d fancy us more than malmo just depends on if we’re interested or not especially only after getting the likes of Kuhn. Or could it be one in one out if we offload yang or tillio

He's on a free so could give him a decent signing on fee. He's a known quantity to Rodgers so there'd be little risk in his signing. I think it's opportunities like this that we need to take if we want to do better in Europe.

 

GK position is the one where I want someone >30. Prime age for a GK. Not bothered with sell on value for a GK - too important a position.
